We are disciples first. As disciples, we need to be guided by a more mature believer who can provide wisdom, encouragement, and accountability. This is a central aspect of discipleship. This relationship helps in personal growth and spiritual maturity.

The only person worthy of having authority over disciples today is Yeshua. All others lead the flock astray & devour them like wolves.

Thought for Today: Thursday August 15

What people think or say of you is indeed important, but the real truth what you and YHVH know, is far more important.

"When ye have done all those things, which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do."

What is the definition of worship? We're supposed to worship our God, but do we have to have certain components like music and dance to make it "legitimate" worship? Are acts of kindness considered worship? These are questions Barry Phillips and David Jones consider in their conversation about a life of worship.

For ask now of the days that are past, which were before you, since the day that God created man on the earth, and ask from one end of heaven to the other, whether such a great thing as this has ever happened or was ever heard of.
Deuteronomy 4:32

We are commanded in #torah to study history in order to understand God's relationship to Israel.

Check out this series I did on the history and identity of Israel...

For YHWH your God is a merciful God. He will not leave you or destroy you or forget the covenant with your fathers that he swore to them.
Deuteronomy 4:31

Moses prophesied Israel's apostasy and exile, but he also prophesied their repentance and restoration. God will never forget her! We can't say that God has utterly rejected the physical descendants of Jacob without calling God a liar.

FROM THIS WEEK'S TORAH PORTION:

"Do not afflict any widow or an orphan."
Who is a widow or an orphan in this picture? Do you know? Can you tell? Are you sure? If not, beware:
“If they cry out to Me at all, I shall certainly hear their cry, and My wrath shall burn and I shall kill you with the sword, your wives shall be widows and your children fatherless.”
