A servant who deals wisely will rule over a son who acts shamefully and will share the inheritance as one of the brothers.
Proverbs 17:2 ESV
Faithfulness is worth more to God than lineage. A physical descendant of Jacob can be cut off for his betrayal and a gentile grafted into his place because of his humility.
...but you shall open your hand to him and lend him sufficient for his need, whatever it may be.
Deuteronomy 15:8
This verse commands us to lend to people who probably will never be able to repay us. God commands charity above and beyond the tithe. It's not an option.
However, that doesn't mean anyone has the right to demand charity. An obligation to lend does not equate to an obligation to demand.
Daily Prayer
Holy are You Adonai our Elohiym, for in Your love You wait on us. You trust us with Your plans and allow us to share in the bringing in of Your Kingdom. Help us in all times to trust in You and to seek to do Your will. Blessed are You Abba, be forever with us, help You’re your people to proclaim Your presence and Your saving power. May we seek to do Your will and help to bring in Your Kingdom. As we give thanks for all men and women of vision and all who have dedicated their lives in Your service. We ask Your blessing upon all preachers, ministers and teachers of the sacraments. Guide all who serve you quietly in their daily lives. We think especially of all those who struggle to serve You while surrounded by difficult circumstances and opposition. Abba YHVH, Adonai of Love and of Freedom, we pray for all who are oppressed. We ask Your blessing upon all who suffer through tyranny and terrorism. We think of all those whose freedom has been diminished through war and violence. We pray for the poor, the hungry and those who are homeless. We give thanks for our own homes and for all who love us. Teach us to show Your presence in our daily living. We pray for homes where there is neglect, lack of love, cruelty or deep selfishness. We bring before You all who live alone and those who are lonely. Adonai, You are with us, even when it is dark. We ask Your blessing upon all who are in pain or in fear. We pray for those who are ill at home or in hospital and all who have sustained injuries. We pray for those who feel life has little meaning and for those who have lost their way. We pray for those who are depressed, anxious or worried about their future. But we give thanks that in You, life is eternal and we ask Your blessing upon all who have friends, families and loved ones who passed away recently. You are merciful Abba and we ask that You come among us and make Your home with us. We pray this in the Name of our Saviour Yeshua Moshiach, amen.
