Thought for Today: Friday October 06:
Friends are an indispensable part of a meaningful life. They are the ones who share our burdens and multiply our blessings. True friends sticks by us in our joys and in our sorrows. In good times and bad, we need friends who will pray with and for us, listen to us and lend a comforting hand.

Abba, life seems so unjust and so unfair. The pain of rejection is almost more than I can bear. My past relationships have ended in strife, anger, rejection and separation. Adonai, help me to let go of all the bitterness and indignation and wrath (passion, rage, bad temper) and resentment (anger and animosity). You are the One Who binds up and heals the broken hearted. I receive Your anointing that destroys every yoke of bondage. I receive emotional healing by faith and I thank You for giving me the grace to stand firm until the process is complete. Thank You for wise counsellors. I acknowledge Ruach HaKodesh as my wonderful Counsellor. Thank You for helping me work out my salvation with fear and trembling, for it is You Abba, Who works in me to will and to act according to Your good purpose. In the Name of Yeshua, I choose to forgive those who have wronged me. I purpose to live a life of forgiveness, because You have forgiven me. With the help of Ruach HaKodesh, I get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. I desire to be kind and compassionate to others, forgiving them, just as in Moshiach You forgave me. With the help of Ruach HaKodesh, I make every effort to live in peace with all people and to be holy, for I know that without holiness, no one will see You Adonai. I purpose to see to it that I do not miss Your grace and that no bitter root grows up within me to cause trouble. I will watch and pray that I enter not into temptation or cause others to stumble. Thank You Abba, that You watch over Your Word to perform it and that whom the Son has set free, is free indeed. I declare that I have overcome resentment and bitterness by the Blood of the Lamb and by the word of my testimony. In Yeshua’ Name I pray, amen.

All of Joshua 23 is a chiasm surrounding God fulfilling his promise to give the land of Canaan to Israel through Joshua.
#biblepatterns
Now Joshua was old and advanced in years, and YHWH said to him, "You are old and advanced in years, and there remains yet very much land to possess. This is the land that yet remains: all the regions of the Philistines, and all those of the Geshurites..."
Joshua 13:1-2
Joshua wasn't going to live long enough to complete the conquest of Canaan. Allocating the land to the tribes of Israel was a higher priority than completing the conquest, and it had to be done before Joshua died or else there could be a civil war.
The KJV mistranslates v1 to say "Joshua was old and stricken in years". It implies that his age had affected him negatively, but the Hebrew doesn't say anything like "stricken". It says "bo b'yomim" or "entered into days".
Why did Moses take possession of so much land east of the Jordan before the 2 1/2 tribes asked for it? Maybe so there'd be no enemies at their back while they invaded Canaan and to allow some time to settle before having to worry about a counter invasion.
Moses led the army east of the Jordan because that campaign was still considered to be part of the wilderness journey and preparation phase. Joshua took over after they crossed the Jordan because he was the chosen leader for the conquest.
Joshua 12:1-6
