Don't be too disturbed when lean times eat up your savings. If you hadn't had better times in which to stock up, the lean times would have eaten you instead. Of course, this presupposes that you saved much of that windfall rather than squandering it.

The wise of heart is called discerning, and sweetness of speech increases persuasiveness.
#proverbs 16:21 ESV

"Wise of heart" means "wise of thought" as opposed to "wise of speech". In other words, a wise man who doesn't give too much unwanted advice is prudent.

It's easier to persuade somebody if you aren't beating them over the head or berating them. This is true no matter what kind of person you're trying to persuade.
