And the people complained in the hearing of YHVH about their misfortunes, and when YHVH heard it, his anger was kindled, and the fire of YHVH burned among them and consumed some outlying parts of the camp.

Cry out to God in your despair, but don't complain. There is a difference. Nobody loves a complainer. Our speech is important to God because he has imbued it with some of his creative power. When we complain against God, we deny and diminish his power to act in our lives.

The story of the elders prophesying in in this chapter is inserted between stories of the people complaining and God punishing them to mitigate the ill effects of lashon harah. The people spoke lies, so God countered by sending fire to stop the contagion and prophets to speak the truth among them.

Do you believe in "Two House" Theology?

Since there are numerous definitions of that term, let me describe a few options before you answer. I wish I could include an option for every possible variation, but I don't have all year to write this post. LOL

1. *Two houses have become one Jewish house*. The people of the divided kingdoms of Judah and Israel were reunited after the Babylonian dispersion. Jewish people today represent both houses. Gentile believers are neither Israel nor Judah. This is the most common view among orthodox and reform Jews.

2. *Jews are Judah and Christians are Ephraim*. Today's Jews represent the Kingdom of Judah and today's Christians represent the Kingdom of Ephraim, regardless of their actual ancestry.

3. *Jews are Judah and Torah-keeping gentiles are Ephraim*. Today's faithful Jews represent the Kingdom of Judah and today's Torah-keeping (former) gentiles represent the Kingdom of Ephraim, regardless of their actual ancestry.

4. *Jews are physical Judah and Torah-keeping gentiles are physical Ephraim*. Today's Jews are more-or-less physically descended from the Kingdom of Judah and God is calling the lost, physical descendants of the Kingdom of Ephraim out of the nations into Torah-observance.

5. *Both houses are entirely spiritual and unidentifiable*. No specific group of people today represent either Judah or Ephraim.

6. *Judah and Ephraim are identifiable as specific ethnic groups*. We know who Israel is, but it's not who most people think. Blacks from Africa are the actual Jewish people, or the nations of Europe are the ten lost tribes, or some other variation such as British Israelism.

Psalm 19:7 - The Law of YHWH is perfect.

What happens when you change something that is perfect? It becomes imperfect, it gets worse. The Hebrew word there means complete. As in nothing else needs to be done to it.

So why do we have teachings rampant among believers that things have changed? Why do we say that some things were only for a certain time period, especially when most of them have the phrase "throughout all your generations", i.e. forever, right after? Why do we not see that when Yeshua/Jesus is talking on points of the Law and what he was speaking against, it wasn't actually the Law itself, but an interpretation of that Law that was held at the time?

I've said it before, but we paint the Messiah as a false-Messiah/prophet according to Deuteronomy 13. The test there is one who would take you away from what God commanded.

Prophecy is not attempting to predict the future, it is used as encouragement to follow the Creator’s instructions and as a warning of what can happen when we don’t. Isaiah 1;10, “Hear the word of the Lord, ye rulers of Sodom; give ear unto the law of our God, ye people of Gomorrah.” This startling comparison of the cities that were destroyed to the way the people were living was not predicting they would be destroyed the same way, it is to warn them that if they continued doing things their own way they would face severe consequences. We would be wise to heed this same warning, it isn’t just about blindly following the rules, it’s about living the way we are designed to live.

Shalom everyone! My 76 yr old mom is wanting to be water baptized.. Praise Yah!! She is a former catholic but is learning Torah (very recent).. Praise Yah!! Today she learned that she needs to be water baptized (not just as a infant) before entering the Kingdom. How do we go about having her water baptized if we don't belong to any fellowship? Please ALL suggestions are welcome!! Todah

Thought for Today: Friday June 17:

YHVH wants you to know how secure and safe you are in His Presence. That is a fact, totally independent of your feelings. You as a believer, are on your way to heaven; nothing can prevent you from reaching that destination. There you will be in His Presence and see Him face to face and your joy will be off the charts by any earthly standards. Even now, you are never separated from Him, though you must see Him through eyes of faith. He will walk with you until the end of time, and further into eternity. Although His Presence is a guaranteed Promise, that does not necessarily change your feelings. When you forget that He is with you, you may experience loneliness or even fear. It is through awareness of His Presence that peace displaces negative feelings. Practice the discipline of walking with Him through each and every day.
