There are words and phrases in the Bible that when originally written had a different definition than we give them today. The evolution of language has tried to change the language of the Bible much like the word gender, which was a grammatical term has replaced the word “sex” which is a biological term. These words were never intended to be interchangeable any more than the words redeemer and savior. Yet today we use these words as if they are the same thing. For believers this causes confusion and contention, we should attempt to understand these things before we try to present them to someone else and when speaking about the Bible use Biblical definitions.
