During World War II, June 1, 1945, the crew on a B-29 suffered a direct hit from a flak shell from Tokyo. Half of the big plane's nose was shot away. The pilot, strapped in his seat, was dead. The co-pilot, his left arm hanging uselessly and blood streaming over his body, tried to control the aircraft. All of the gauges were inoperable. He did not know his speed, direction, or altitude. He was flying blind. To bail out, with the enemy below, meant sure death. When the situation seemed hopeless, two American P-61 Black Widow Night Fighters suddenly appeared on the horizon. They flew alongside the badly damaged bomber and nudged it back safely to Iwo Jima. In 1984, almost forty years later, the crews of the planes met for a reunion in Long Beach, California. They recalled the day when death seemed so near, and comrades in arms came along beside them and delivered them to safety.
There is spiritual truth in this story. Persons without Adonai Elohim are flying blind, with death as their destination. We must come along beside them and guide them to safety.
Thought for Today: Wednesday April 20: Day 4 of the Omer:
It is good that you recognize your weakness. That keeps you looking for YHVH, your Strength. Abundant life is not necessarily health and wealth; it is living in continual dependence on Him. Instead of trying to fit this day into a preconceived mould, relax and be on the lookout for what YHVH is doing. This mindset will free you to enjoy Elohim and to find what He has planned for you to do. This is far better than trying to make things go according to your own plan. Don’t take yourself too seriously. Lighten up and laugh with YHVH. You have Elohim on your side, so what are you worried about? YHVH can equip you to do absolutely anything as long as it is in His will. The more difficult your day, the more He yearns to help you. Anxiety wraps you up in yourself, trapping you in your own thoughts. When you look to Elohim and whisper His Name, you break free and receive His help. Focus on Him and you will find Peace in His Presence.

There are two Hebrew words in Exodus 12:15 that define what you need to remove from your home for #passover and the Feast of #unleavenedbread: chometz and seor. Chometz is leavened bread. Seor is leaven, specifically the yeast starter used to leaven bread dough before cooking. Leavening, in this context, refers to the fermentation process of live yeast in bread dough. Some people remove all leavening agents (yeast and chemical) and their by-products from their home, while others remove only yeast-leavened bread and any starter dough. My personal interpretation is somewhere in the middle: I remove all non-distilled, yeast-fermented grain products. If you're going to keep the Feast, then you need to read the Scriptures for yourself and make your own decisions.
