Who comes to mind when we think about those who oppose the will of God? Everyone has a list of the usual suspects: atheists, satanists, occultists, criminals, people of other religions, and quite possibly people with different political views. However, before we cast blame outward, we might want to look inward and see if the greatest opposition to God’s plans originates in our own hearts.

1 Samuel 2:8, “He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the Lord's, and he hath set the world upon them.” This verse is often used by those who promote a flat earth, however when the previous verses are read it is very easy to realize it is speaking about people and not the earth itself. Today we use the word earth and world interchangeably but this is the first time the word “world” is used in the Bible and is used to describe everyone who had ever lived or ever will live.

Victorious paths are not quick, are not painless, but YHVH takes the mess and make it into something good. Wouldn't you think He can do the same for you? Trust in Him, He can take our grain of sand and fashion a pearl. He can take our caterpillar and transform it into a butterfly. He can take our lump of clay and mould it into a vessel of honour, fit for the use of a king.
