Please pray for my niece, Sophia Gautreaux. We are trying to get custody after she was kidnapped by the paternal grandparents.

They have done all they can do to keep her away from her mother and her brothers.

Forgive me…just learning how to maneuver this site….as for my niece…The situation we are dealing with is nothing short of a battle with the ADVERSARY! Their ENTIRE CASE IS the rich lying and my poor single mother sister….having to accept court appointed lawyers that never helped her. Sophia was 2 years old when she was taken and we have been in court for YEARS! Sophia is 7 now!!!! Not ONE ACCUSATION they have lied about has a shred of proof, but the courts just started allowing UNSUPERVISED VISITATIONS a couple years ago! (My sister was seriously abused by their son…physically, emotionally, financially, etc. Sophia also has a younger brother that shares both parents, but because they claim the aren’t sure…it doesn’t get brought up! Everyone we speak to says this is impossible….obviously not!) The grandparents have accused my sister of neglect, drug abuse (of course no bad drug screens!), physical abuse, etc etc. My aunt (Sophia’s grandfathers sister…whom was a teacher for 30 years without 1 issue for misconduct…was accused of hitting Sophia as well and finally had enough and couldn’t deal anymore so I started handling visitation and then I was accused of abuse as well….these people don’t have any truth coming from their lips….they have money though! They don’t let us see her one minute more than the court allows and during phone calls (when they actually answer…and only at bedtime) they barely let my sister say anything more than “goodnight” before hanging up the phone. They had a therapist come to court and lie and say we physically abused her…since then…this SAME therapist wrote a 21 page letter apologizing for testifying (the lies he was told) with out hearing both sides of the story…he even gave examples of other cases where the grandparents of other caregivers were deemed a DANGER to the child and healthy relationships…These people have convinced a few outsiders (principal at her Catholic School, counselor there, 2 more therapists, etc to testify and repeat all the lies that Sophia’s grandmother told them to say…the grandmother even makes Sophia lie to these people. The first counselor was told later by Sophia herself that the grandma forced her to say these lies and she can’t say otherwise out of fear! (The other counselors are for witnesses in court and we can’t afford to go to all these therapists to prove otherwise.) I could go on and on…

I ask for prayers…because I am almost at my breaking point, but my niece wants to be with us…her mother and brother and the rest of us! Honestly I don’t know how we matter at all…they have kept her away so much and she’s so unhappy. She has so many cousins and has 3 siblings (2 have different fathers) and she’s happy with her us…of course she says she loves them, but she wants to be with her mother!!!! The division they are causing within this child is unbelievable…they actually go to church too!!?! Her visitation time is on my Sabbath and during only 2 hours on Friday during the WORST TRAFFIC 5-7pm and then every other Saturday 9:30-50pm! They refuse to allow 1 minute to be made up if have to miss a visit…they are mean and use any bit of info they get from us or her and twist it and use it against us in court! Honestly, it seems helpless….but I trudge on….for my little “treasure.” On top of this…they not only have no interest in their grandson…they deny that he is theirs…. (They were there when he was born too!)

Where are you getting this? Looking at the account and subtracting events and times (because we aren't given ages until later in his life), he probably left to go to Laban at about 60, which would be about 67 when he married the daughters - who both we aren't given an age. They could have been older.
