I don’t celebrate Christmas but I do still go to an Apostolic Pentecostal church that does. I know that many think it’s fine because they know that Dec 25 wasn’t His birthday but they keep it as tradition. Here lately someone told me it doesn’t have pagan roots and it’s actually pure, simply tradition. I say that become I find myself being tugged in my spirit, (church asked if my 7 weeks old son would be in the Christmas play, I wasn’t going to go that night simply because I don’t observe that holiday, but I said yes. ? mainly because I don’t want people to think bad of me. I’m newer there, backslid and had a baby out of wedlock, and the Sunday before the pastor talked about people that don’t celebrate the holidays and stuff, not bad, but not good either, so didn’t want to get into that with anyone if they asked why.) I know God is not the author of confusion, so need more info on the origins of Christmas. Thank You!
PS I don’t plan on celebrating but for my own peace of mind.p

And the heathen shall know that the house of Israel went into captivity for their iniquity: because they trespassed against Me, therefore hid I my face from them, and gave them into the hand of their enemies: so fell they all by the sword.
According to their uncleanness and according to their transgressions have I done unto them, and hid My face from them.
Therefore thus saith Yehovah; Now will I bring again the captivity of Jacob, and have mercy upon the whole house of Israel, and will be jealous for My holy name;
After that they have borne their shame, and all their trespasses whereby they have trespassed against Me, when they dwelt safely in their land, and none made them afraid.
When I have brought them again from the people, and gathered them out of their enemies' lands, and am sanctified in them in the sight of many nations;
Then shall they know that I am Yehovah their El, which caused them to be led into captivity among the heathen: but I have gathered them unto their own land, and have left none of them any more there.
Neither will I hide my face any more from them: for I have poured out My Spirit upon the house of Israel, saith Yehovah."

Thought for Today: Shabbat December 04

Yeshua is the Truth; the One Who came to set you free. As Ruach HaKodesh controls your mind and actions more fully, you become free in Him. You are increasingly released to become the one Elohim created you to be. This is a work that He do in you as you yield to His Spirit. He can do His best handiwork when you sit in the stillness of His Presence, focusing your entire being on Him. Allow His thoughts to burst freely upon your consciousness, stimulating abundant life; He is the Way, the Truth and the Life. As you follow Him, He will lead you along paths of newness; ways you can never imagine. Don't worry about what is on the road ahead. He wants you to find your security in knowing Him, the One who died and rose again to set you free.

Part 19 --- YOURS IS THE REIGN --- Victory

The entire pattern of prayer closes with victory. “Yours is the Reign…” means victory. Victory is always a part of prayer. You can’t pray affectively unless you close with victory. Something else is involved in that statement: faith. When you say, “Adonai, You are YHVH Elohim,” your faith comes alive. Thine is means “Adonai You are. To You belongs all the glory! To You belongs the honour! To You belongs the majesty!” That’s faith.

Part 18 --- FROM THE WICKED ONE --- Resistance

In this revelation Yeshua was not only speaking about deliverance from evil but from the evil one. When Adonai says that we are to pray, deliver us from the wicked one, He is telling us to resist. It’s a prayer for strength to resist the devil. The Greek says evil one and Hebrews says the wicked one. Preserve us; keep us safe from the wicked one. And that’s a continual preservation. YHVH doesn’t come and go every day. He stays with you. He said, “I’m with you always.” When I pray preserve me from evil, I’m saying "Adonai, give me illumination so I’ll see when the enemy comes". When I pray preserve me, I’m saying keep my eyes open, keep me wise. Give me discernment, Adonai. When I say preserve me from the wicked one, deliver me from the wicked one, I also pray, Adonai, give me strength to resist him at all times. James 4:7 declares, “.... Resist the devil and he will flee from you.” Here we see a prayer for resistance, deliver us from the wicked one Adonai. In prayer there must be a resistance, for how can you pray unless there is resistance against the will of the enemy? Deliverance from the wicked one also demands cooperation with YHVH. The Bible says in James 4: 7, “So then, subject yourself to Elohim... .” You cannot resist the devil until you’ve submitted to YHVH Elohim. Resistance is a part of prayer.
