I can tell that Yah's Spirit is starting to convict folks regarding Christmas. I keep seeing posts from high profile Christian political commentators going out of their way to defend the holiday as not being pagan. They wouldn't be doing that if people weren't starting to think.

Thought for Today: Friday December 24:

A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. -- Proverbs 15:1

So much energy is expended in anger that you are literally, exhausted. The after effect is one of despondency. Anger that simmers and seethes is even more depressing because it permits a constant leakage of energy. Next time you feel anger rising, remember this verse and choose the soft answer. You will be amazed at the self-control and energy it gives.

I haven't set out to, but I've been finding myself talking about the origins of Christmas with a lot of people lately. The conversation has come up several times with my co-workers. They ask "you doing anything for Christmas?" I respond "Nah, I already celebrated Jesus' birthday during the Feast of Tabernacles".

I like to reply that I am a believer of Yeshua, a Keeper of the Torah, and I am not a Catholic.

Noah had nothing to go on but the Word of God - nothing tangible that he could touch, no visual signs of a flood, no precedence, nothing! Is your faith like Noah's?

[Moses] supposed that his brothers would understand that God was giving them salvation by his hand, but they did not understand.
Acts 7:25

Stephen said Moses was aware of his messianic role before his personal exile from Egypt. Like Yeshua, his brothers rejected him the first time, so he had to leave for awhile and come back when they were ready. God will have his way eventually. When we refuse him, he might seem to leave us, but really he only goes to prepare for our further refinement. Refusal is never refusal, but only a ticket back into the crucible.

This man led them out, performing wonders and signs in Egypt and at the Red Sea and in the wilderness for forty years.
Acts 7:36

There will come a time where we will find ourselves in a place where no one can help us but Jesus, there is such a trial. God wants us to learn how to lean completely on him. Israel found themselves in the wilderness and one person could not help the other because they were all in the same place. There were no doctors, banks, or grocery stores. God put them in a place where they had to learn to trust him and to lean on him for help. He proved to them they could trust him by providing manna from heaven, water from a rock, quail for meat, he even kept their clothes from growing old and kept their feet from swelling for 40 years. He parted the waters when the enemy was on their trail and drowned their enemy in the sea, just to show them they can lean on him. We have become so accustomed to seeing our cupboards filled by the power of our hands or the car does what we tell it to do in regards to stopping and turning where we desire. I remember going to Birmingham and as I was going down the interstate my back rear axel broke and my car started sliding down the interstate sideways going into the median. I remember the fear I felt and the reason was no matter which way I turned the wheel the car would not respond or if I hit the brakes the car would not stop. I was comfortable as long as the car did what I wanted, that's why God wants to put us in those kind of trials so that our total confidence can be in him and not in ourselves or others so when chaos happens we are in a state of peace because we know he has us. Proverbs 3:5 "Trust(Have confidence) in the Lord with ALL your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;" God put Paul in such a trial in 2 Cor 1:9 But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raises the dead: Paul was saying there was nothing he could do and or anyone else but God only who raises the dead because it was out of his hands and hope seemed gone but God delivered him. There will come a time where we are gonna have to be completely trusting God or we will receive the mark of the beast according to scripture, that's one line that's crossed, we can't repent and come back to God, Revelation 13 says we can't buy or sell unless we receive that mark. We are gonna have to learn to trust him now, so our faith won't be shaken in those days.
