Today's Poem: Knowing Christ

Is there a treasure worth comparing
to the joy of knowing Christ?
A wealth that's capable of bearing
the burden of an empty life?

Has money ever held the hand
and whispered words of love?
To even a single dying man,
and if it could, is that enough?

Can riches ever light the way
when you stand on eternity's shore?
And does it know just what to say
before you face "Forevermore"?

Will gems impress the Lord of all?
Could they redeem your sinful life?
No jewels dim and gold are dull
beside the joy of knowing Christ!

Praying Psalm 28

I pray to You O Lord, You are my Rock. Do not turn a deaf ear to me. For if You are silent, I might as well give up and die. Listen to my prayer for mercy as I cry out to You for help, as I lift my hands toward Your holy sanctuary. Do not drag me away with the wicked; with those who do evil; those who speak friendly words to their neighbours while planning evil in their hearts. Give them the punishment they so richly deserve! Measure it out in proportion to their wickedness. Pay them back for all their evil deeds! Give them a taste of what they are doing to others. They care nothing for what You have done or for what Your hands have made. Tear them down and let them never rebuilt! O my soul, praise your Lord! For He hear my cries for mercy. You Lord are my Strength and Shield. I trust in You Lord with all my heart. For You help me and my heart is filled with joy. I burst out in songs of thanksgiving. You my King, give Your people strength. You are a safe fortress for Your chosen ones. Save Your people! Bless Israel, who are Your special possession. The Beginning of Years

Our Heavenly Father and great I Am. As we start this day, we come to Thee in humbleness and supplication. As we have all sinned and fallen short of keeping Thy commandments we ask in prayer for forgiveness. Release us from evil and purify us this day of all iniquities, sins and trespasses against Thee. Cleanse and purify us with the blood of Thy Lamb. Please give us this day to walk in Thy light and righteousness. Guard our minds, tounge and doing from all evil. Thank You for every blessing and provision. Thank You for family and friends. Please be with us in this day. Strengthen us with Thy Shalom and Spirit. Let Thy Kingdom come and will be done on earth as in heaven. For Thine is the Kingdom and the Glory for ever and ever. Amein

And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Master, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.

And he said unto them, When you pray, say,

Our Father which are in heaven, Holy be Thy Name.
Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.
Give us day by day our daily bread.
And forgive us our sins; as we forgive those who trespassed against us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.

And he said unto them, Which of you shall have a friend, and shall go unto him at midnight, and say unto him, Friend, lend me three loaves;
For a friend of mine in his journey is come to me, and I have nothing to set before him?

And he from within shall answer and say,

Trouble me not: the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give thee.

I say unto you, Though he will not rise and give him, because he is his friend, yet because of his importunity he will rise and give him as many as he need.

And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.

For every one that ask receives; and he that seek find; and to him that knock it shall be opened.
