David Bahnsen makes a compelling argument that Western nations are in serious trouble and will not succeed or prosper unless they return to a moral lifestyle based on biblical values. Starting with the Creation account in Genesis, he claims that the Torah addresses one's vocation in life, economics, social justice, and environmental stewardship. A very interesting inverview with John Anderson.
For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.
Mark 10:45
There are no true freemen among godly people in Scripture. All of the great patriarchs and prophets were called to be servants. None of them even agreed to their mission until after they were called. And so we are all servants. See also Romans 6:16.
My main website at http://MessiahsLove.com is designed to bring people to Messiah of course. I have links to most of my other sites on there as well. I printed cards with that site and the blog site and I give them to people I meet during the day. I'll also sometimes leave them in places where people can find them easily. I truly hope that more people will come to know Yeshua through this work.
The last couple of days I stopped at Walmart to get a sandwich to eat. There was a man in front ringing a bell for the starvation army. I gave him one of the cards for my blog and told him to type in the word Christmas and see what it says. The second day when I was coming out of the store he wished me a Merry Christmas. I told him that I don't practice Christmas because I have learned it comes out of pagan origins. Today I went to the store he isn't there. I hope that means that he has repented of Christmas and other ways in his life that are not right.
Yeshua was not authorized to grant positions at his right or left (Mark 10:35-40). He said that those positions had been prepared for others already, but for whom? And why was he not authorized?
You can call it heretical and slap fancy labels on it all you want, but the plain truth is that there is a clear hierarchical authority relationship between Father and Son. The Father decides who sits at the right and left hands of the Son. The Father decides when the Son comes and goes. Yeshua does and says what the Father tells him.
Yeshua is divine. He is an aspect or a part or a person (or whatever term you want to use) of the singular God of Abraham known as YHWH, but the Son is not co-equal with the Father anymore than my right hand is co-equal with my brain.
Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Hebrews 4:1-11 Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.
For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And Elohim did rest the seventh day from all his works.
And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest.
Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:
Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.
For if Joshua had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.
There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of Elohim.
For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as YHVH did from his.
Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.
Will you be persuaded to enter the shabbat rest on the seventh day of the week that still remains for those who are his?
Mark 2:27 says that the sabbath day is for all men.
