Psalms 9:1 — 2, “I will praise you, Lord, with all my heart. I will tell all the miracles you have done. I will be happy because of you. God Most High, I will sing praises to your name.” David begins this with a declaration that he would praise our Creator with all of his heart and he would speak of the miracles that God has done. For some believers this comes naturally, bit this isn’t so for everyone. Some have trouble offering their praise, not because they don’t want to praise our Creator but because they really are not sure how to praise Him.

Yeshua on David's throne, or not???

A brief discussion with Marten Perdue last week made me think on this subject and a message I looked at this morning made me wonder even more about my belief that Yeshua will be seated on David's throne.

Here is the rabbit hole of verses I looked at:

Jeremiah 33:17-21 - For thus says the Lord, ‘David shall never lack a man to sit on the throne of the house of Israel; 18 and the Levitical priests shall never lack a man to offer burnt offerings before Me and to burn grain offerings and to prepare sacrifices all day long.’” 19 The word of the Lord came to Jeremiah, saying, 20 “Thus says the Lord, ‘If you can break My covenant for the day and My covenant for the night, so that day and night do not take place at their appointed times, 21 then My covenant may also be broken with David My servant so that he will not have a son to reign on his throne, and with the Levitical priests, My minister

Psalm 132:11-12 - The Lord swore to David a truth from which He will not turn back: “One of your descendants I will set upon your throne. “If your children will keep My covenant and My testimony which I will teach them, their children also shall sit upon your throne forever.”

Isaiah 9:6-7 - For to us a Child shall be born, to us a Son shall be given; And the government shall be upon His shoulder, and His name shall be called Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. 7 There shall be no end to the increase of His government and of peace, on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness from that time forward and forevermore. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will accomplish this.

Luke 1:32 - He will be great and eminent and will be called the Son of the Most High; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David;

These verses would at first reading look like Yeshua is seated on David's throne as a descendant of David. Well, this is at least what I was taught in church.

Looking at it again, Psalm 132 has a legal binding requirement for David to have a descendant on the throne: "If your children will keep My covenant and My testimony". ? We can therefore not assume that the covenant remained in place.

That is how this covenant was broken in Jeremiah 22:28-30 with Coniah, aka Jeconiah, aka Jehoiachin as he would never have a descendant on the throne. We then read in Matthew 1:12 that Jeconiah is in Yeshua's lineage: "After the deportation to Babylon: Jeconiah became the father of Shealtiel, and Shealtiel the father of Zerubbabel."

That would then mean that Yeshua can't be seated on David's throne as it would negate Jeremiah 22. ?

Luke 1:32 says: "He will be great and eminent and will be called the Son of the Most High; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David; "

If I then read this verse and the first passages again then it looks more like Yeshua is given the throne and established the throne of David, but not that He is seated on it nor rules from it.

That is where Yeshua's title "King of kings" comes in. Here in the UK it is easier to understand with all the past feudal wars where a king had to give his rulership up to another king if he lost a war or submitted. The loser in some cases kept his title as king, but the winning king became a "king of kings" and supremely ruled all the kingdoms.

It also makes more sense to me now when Yeshua is told to sit on the right hand of Father. His heavenly throne isn't David's earthly throne or kingship, but it includes the authority and kingdom David was handed. Yeshua therefore rules over David's throne, but doesn't sit on it. If you know of any verses that says that Yeshua actually sits on David's throne then it would answer all my question, so please do let me know.

Am I losing the trail in my thinking here? What are your thoughts on this?

I think this is the reason the myth of Yeshua and Mary of Magdela having a daughter came about, so justify the supposed royal line. The claim David's literal throne is in England, perhaps Buckingham Palace (but im not for sure on it's whereabouts). There is supposedly a family record of all the royals going back to Yeshua.

I don't take sitting on David's throne literally. I see it as a representation of his authority and righteous rule. Obviously, David's throne was not taken up to heaven, so it is not at the right hand of Yah, where Yeshua rules from.

What's the connection between Argentina and Denmark, and what does that connection have to do with Israel's Lost Tribes? Author Susanne Ratcliffe can tell you!
Susanne's latest novel, Stones of Wrath: The Twins, is the second part of a trilogy about a mysterious artefact somehow linked to ancient Israel. In this new novel, she carries forward the story begun in Stones of Wrath: The Tapestry, tracing the actions of her characters through the intrigue of World War II in Denmark, where the nation is under Nazi occupation, and Argentina, where there is considerable sympathy for the Nazi regime.
What's next in God's promised restoration of all Israel? Susanne's third novel might have some answers, but since she's still working on it, the best thing is to read her first two novels and learn how fiction and real life sometimes aren't so different as we might expect!
