There are five different types of sacrifices in #leviticus: Burnt, Grain, Peace, Sin, and Trespass. They have different purposes and methods. Although there is no functioning Temple and Altar today, they are still important to understand.

Do you have a guilty conscience? Do you want to approach God? The burnt offering is your thing.

Do you want to tell God how great He is or let Him know you're His man? Consider a grain offering.

Did God spare you? Give you a victory? Need to fulfill a vow? Make a peace offering & throw a party with friends & family.

Did you slip up, but didn't know any better? Like someone taught you incorrectly or you didn't understand a command? Bring a sin offering.

Did you go where you shouldn't have? Hurt someone? Let your tongue get away from you? Acted cowardly? Make a trespass offering.

The International Court of Justice has determined that Russia is not the agressor and refuses to label the two states who asked for Russian help as terrorist groups. Big win. Sadly Finland and Sweden are no longer neutral, but have sided with the west. Russia did not invade Ukraine. Both states requested Russian support and so Russia went into those territories and Ukraine attacked those states so Russia defended them. That's a huge difference! The difference between a freedom fighter and a terrorist.

There is also the fact that NATO agreed NOT to get any closer to Russia's border. By NATO trying to bring in Ukraine, they violated an agreement.

Women’s Portion for Today: Friday March 22

Prayer is often compared with breathing. With every breath we exhale the unhealthy air… and inhale the fresh air of YHVH’s promises, His Love and His life in Moshiach. This we do through the Holy Spirit which is the Breath of Life to all of us. (Prayer: Father, my family and I receive You into our lives with joy and thankfulness. Thank You that we are aware of Your Presence when we pray to You, amein.)

"Chosen before the foundation of the world" ?

Reading Ephesians 1 this morning the verse 4 says "He chose us in Christ before the foundation of the world, so that we would be holy and blameless in His sight."

There are other Bible references to being selected before the foundation of the world.

Does this mean that only certain people can ever be saved?
What about determining your own destiny?
If you are chosen, can you then sin forever and still be saved as you are predestined?

What are your thoughts on this?

I interpret this to mean that Yehovah foresaw Human's need of a Savior ahead of time.

Keepeth doth Yahweh all who love him Original Hebrew Scripture from Psalm 145
"Keepeth doth Yahweh all who love him: and all the wicked he will destroy."
שׁוֹמֵר יְהוָה אֶת־כָּל־אֹהֲבָיו וְאֵת כָּל־הָרְשָׁעִים יַשְׁמִיד

Zechariah 14:2, “ Indeed, I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem to battle, and the city will be captured, the houses plundered, the women ravished, and half of the city will go forth in exile, but those left of the people will not be cut off from the city.” This event remains in our future and the first question is why would our Creator choose to gather all nations against Jerusalem? Because there will be some left to inhabit the city we should consider a division between those who are faithful and those who are not. We could speculate there will be some kind of action by the unfaithful that will cause our Creator to eradicate them while leaving the faithful to fill the void.

Shabbat thoughts.
The Orthodox Jews observe many modern prohibitions on the sabbath. ie, car travel, phone calls, turning on lights m, cooking....

Why do you do? And what do you feel we should do?

We need to observe and delight in YHVH's teachings, of course.
Does a sabbath day consist of just sitting around.

What do we do?

The biggest points for us are:

1. not to make others work for us
- Light meals are prepared on Friday
- We don't go shopping and when we travel to a meeting then we don't use it as an excuse to go buy stuff
- Dishes are done after sunset or left to Sunday
2. having extra rest
- We try to sleep in
- Have a ciesta in the afternoon
3. Bible study
- I try to focus on Scriture based topics on the day, so will avoid newspaper articles, etc. I watch quite a few hours of Torah based videos.
4. spending time fellowshipping with others
- when there is an opportunity then we meet with other believers, but due to distances try not to have to travel more than one Shabbat per month to ensure we get rest in overall during the month.
