Psalm 37:11, “But the humble will inherit the earth and delight in abundant peace.” David does not directly mention the new heaven or new earth, however this verse should cause us to consider if he had some insight about these things. Will those who bow down to the Creator receive this current earth as an inheritance or is David eluding to the humble receiving a new earth, remade perfect by our Creator? Would the perfect Father offer His children something that is broken and cursed when He has the means to give them the very best He has to offer?

The Holy Spirit in relation to Father...

Another Trinitarian question which I have been searching for an answer for years now.

2 Cor 3 talks about the Holy Spirit.

v3 says: "You show that you are a letter from Christ, delivered by us, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts."

v8: "how will the ministry of the Spirit fail to be even more glorious and splendid?"

Now in 2 Cor 3:17 it actually says that the Spirit is Father and not that Father merely sends the Spirit: "Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty"

For me v17 indicates that the Holy Spirit isn't a separate entity, but Father's own spirit which He sends out. This might be difficult for us to understand as our spirit is bound to our physical bodies till death. But is this true for a spirit being?

I was taught that the Holy Spirit is a separate entity as it is seen in the form of a dove coming down on Yeshua, but that scene description might just be a rudimentary description by the writers to describe a wave of light/spirit moving over/onto Yeshua at baptism.

It might still have been Father Himself being seen in His spiritual form (as if He has any other form...). Hence why Father's face is always "hidden" within a light. That "light" is Father's visible form.

What are your thought on this?

I see it as just YHWH's spirit. It is put on Moses and King Saul and others throughout the Tanak. It's like Him downloading something to us.

In 2 Cor 3:7-18, Paul is alluding to Exodus 34:29-35 where Moses’ face would shine after he spoke to the LORD so he covered it with a veil. In 2 Cor 3:14, Paul said that the Jews are spiritually blind because the veil that covers their hearts can only be removed in Christ (Christos). In 2 Cor 3:16, Paul returned to the story of Moses and followed the language of the Septuagint; in the Old Testament, when someone “turns to the Lord” (Kurios), they turn to YHVH (cf. Deut 30:10, Ps 22:27). In 2 Cor 3:17, Paul returned to topic of “the ministry of the Spirit” which he began in 2 Cor 3:8. When Paul said that the Lord is the Spirit, he was equating Yahweh with the Spirit, which is consistent with Trinitarianism.

Within Theology Proper, it is improper refer to the Father, Son or Holy Spirit as entities because that implies tritheism. They are three distinct hypostases in the one essence that is God (YHVH).

Romans says that both Yeshua and the Spirit intercede with God for us, but, as you point out, there are numerous passages that say Yeshua and the Spirit are both also God. The reality is no doubt beyond our comprehension, but analogs of this relationship are all around us. God has built images of himself into everything he creates.

Thought for Today: Friday March 08

It is in quiet obedience that we follow His footsteps...
It is in quiet reflection that we hear His voice...
It is in quiet assurance that we find His rest...

And he made a mercy seat of pure gold. Two cubits and a half was its length, and a cubit and a half its breadth.
#exodus 37:6 #vayakhel

"Mercy seat" is a terrible translation of kaporet. It's the lid for the Ark of the Covenant and the word literally means covering or lid, so why not just translate that way?

Time Is the Ally of Deceit One of the best books especially for newbies is "Time Is the Ally of Deceit" by Richard Rives. Not to mention just a great slogan altogether and a perfect explanation for how everything has gone so far off the rails.
