I thought maybe I had already asked this, but I don't remember any replies.

When the Israelites left Egypt, Scriptire says they packed their unleavened DOUGH since the kneading troughs were packed. This means the dough had plenty of time whole they hiked to collect yeast from the air. So, my question is this: is sourdough or poolish the only leavening we are to get rid of annually, or do we need to toss out nutritional yeast, baking soda, baking powder, yeast extract, baking yeast, brewer's yeast, and some even say, milk? We've always gotten out everything but the milk, just to be safe, but I've really been questioning this over the past year. Don't the rabbis go too far by requiring matzah be cooked within 15 minutes and have holes poked in it? The Israelites wouldn't have had time to do this poking, either, as they traveled.

I honestly believe that Scripture simply states not to add a leavening agent but not that we have to go to all this extra work to get it as flat as a piece of paper. ?

David Martin I agree that it doesnt need to be a wafer. Although, an unleavened brick might be more like hard tac.?

You shall bring Aaron and his sons to the entrance of the tent of meeting and wash them with water.
#exodus 29:4

This says to wash the priests, but there was no laver yet. How were they to be washed? This was almost certainly a mikveh, what we know in Christian terminology as a baptism. It's an ancient Hebrew custom that symbolizes death to an old life and rebirth into the new. #tetzaveh

Many have expressed concern over our differences. However, not many people may know two things about middle eastern thought. First, if two rabbis are completely opposite arguements in the Talmud, they are both considered right. The seven versions of the Q'ran often appear to disagree, but they are all considered to be equally true. Western thought seems to require a right and a wrong, but oriental thought seems to be less so. So is it possible we're all right? Possibly, as long as our hearts are right with Yah. Shalom!

That's such an interesting view. A bit of cognitive dissonance is needed to accept the idea of opposing views all being correct.

I would hate to be a judge in such matters. ? ?

Now this is what you shall do... Take...unleavened bread, unleavened cakes mixed with oil, and unleavened wafers smeared with oil. You shall make them of fine wheat flour. You shall put them in one basket and bring them in the basket, and bring the bull and the two rams.
#exodus 29:1-3

There are three different types of bread listed in Exodus 29:2: bread, cakes, and wafers. Could these be a metaphor of different groups or types of people united in the commonwealth of Israel and all presented to God in a single metaphorical basket?

You get to do the most "interesting" jobs. ?

I am sitting down, looking at your picture and my back is aching. ?

Oh, yeah, you missed a spot. Top right corner, 25th tile from the top and 19th from the right. ?
