This is from World Book 1967 and Funk & Wagnalls 1981. Just in case somebody is out there preaching Christmas traditions aren’t really pagan and aren’t really the Saturnalia in disguise.

Here is a bit more on the modern-Santa Clause image the world has: "Once upon a time, in the 1930s, the Coca-Cola Company decided it was time to make a splash in the advertising world.

They wanted to create a heartwarming and universally appealing campaign that would resonate with the masses. And who better to be the face of that campaign than the jolly old man himself, Santa Claus?

Coca-Cola hired Haddon Sundblom, a talented illustrator, to create a series of Christmas advertisements featuring a lovable, plump Santa Claus. Little did they know, this decision would forever change the way we picture Santa."

Quoted from https://www.historyoasis.com/p....ost/coca-cola-santa-

The worst part is that in their version of Santa Clause they descided to leave out Krampus... "The Krampus is a horned anthropomorphic figure in the Central and Eastern Alpine folklore of Europe who, during the Advent season, scares children who have misbehaved. Assisting Saint Nicholas, or Santa Claus, the pair visit children on the night of 5 December, with Saint Nicholas rewarding the well-behaved children with gifts such as oranges, dried fruit, walnuts and chocolate, while the badly behaved ones only receive punishment from Krampus with birch rods."

Quoted from https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Krampus

Happy first of the week everyone! I had such a great sabbath, I'm energized and ready to go! I even got a few hours' break from my migraines and lightning headaches! Yah is so good! I pray everyone feels as good as I do today! If the world would be this happy, there'd be peace! No I'm not high or drunk, except on the Spirit! Life is good! Celebrate!

Deuteronomy 6:6—7, “These words I am commanding you today are to be upon your hearts. And you shall teach them diligently to your children and speak of them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.”

That is how we embed the Word into our childrens' hearts from a young age. It also keeps our balanced in check so that we use the Word as our measuring stick and not the world.

Apostolic passages that I think pair well with #torah parsha #vayigash (#genesis 44:18-47:27), plus links to related commentary and videos: https://www.americantorah.com/....2021/06/08/parsha-va

Your thoughts on past memories please:
I think that the purpose of our memories is not to remember our past, but to extract things out from our past, to use as lessons, to structure our future.

I teach my family that "every person is the sum of their experiences". Therefore, every person will respond differently to a situation dependent on their experiences. Some will run to a fire while others will run away from it, kind of thing.

Our memories can therefore make or break us dependent on whether we have overcome that experience.

For instance, a person can feel so guilty about their sin that they can't forgive themselves so that they can approach Father for His forgiveness. They are therefore captured by their memories of their sins.

One person can come out of a broken home and use it as a reason to blossom in their walk with Father and others can use their experience as an excuse not to follow Father.

We have to choose to use our experiences (and by association our memories of those experiences) as stepping stones to climb higher and higher.
