Yochanan Ben Yisrael
20 T’tzaveh – Day 4
Sh’moth 29:1-18
“And this is the task you shall do to them to set them apart to serve Me as priests: Take one young bull and two rams, perfect ones, and unleavened bread, and unleavened cakes mixed with oil, and unleavened wafers anointed with oil – make these of wheat flour.
“And you shall put them in one basket and bring them in the basket, along with the bull and the two rams.
“Then you shall bring Aharon and his sons to the door of the Tent of Appointment, and wash them with water.
“And you shall take the garments, and shall put on Aharon the long shirt, and the robe of the shoulder garment, and the shoulder garment, and the breastplate, and shall gird him with the embroidered band of the shoulder garment, and shall put the turban on his head, and shall put the set-apart sign of dedication on the turban, and shall take the anointing oil, and pour it on his head and anoint him.
“Then you shall bring his sons and put long shirts on them, and shall gird them with girdles – Aharon and his sons – and put the turbans on them. And the priesthood shall be theirs for an everlasting law. So you shall ordain Aharon and his sons.
“And you shall bring near the bull before the Tent of Appointment, and Aharon and his sons shall lay their hands on the head of the bull.
“And you shall slay the bull before YHWH, by the door of the Tent of Appointment, and take some of the blood of the bull and put it on the horns of the altar with your finger, and pour all the blood beside the base of the altar.
“And you shall take all the fat that covers the entrails, and the appendage on the liver, and the two kidneys and the fat that is on them, and burn them on the altar.
“But the flesh of the bull, and its skin and its dung, you shall burn with fire outside the camp. It is a sin offering.
“And take one ram, and Aharon and his sons shall lay their hands on the head of the ram, and you shall slay the ram, and you shall take its blood and sprinkle it all around on the altar.
“And cut the ram in pieces, and wash its entrails and its legs, and place them upon its pieces and on its head.
“And you shall burn the entire ram on the altar. It is an ascending offering to YHWH, it is a sweet fragrance, an offering made by fire to YHWH.

Here is your question for Yom Revy'y found in today's Torah portion in Shemoth 29:1-18:

Yochanan Ben Yisrael
Tehillah 94 - Day 4 (Yom Revi’y)
O YHWH, Ěl of vengeance; O Ěl of vengeance, shine forth!
Raise Yourself up, O Judge of the earth; Render punishment to the proud.
YHWH, how long are the wrong, How long are the wrong going to exult?
They pour forth words, They speak arrogantly; All the workers of wickedness boast in themselves.
They crush Your people, O YHWH, And they afflict Your inheritance.
They kill the widow and the stranger, And murder the fatherless.
Yet they say, “Yah does not see, And the Elohim of Ya‛aqoḇ pays no heed.”
Take heed, you senseless among the people; And you fools, when would you become wise?
He who planted the ear, does He not hear? He who formed the eye, does He not see?
He who disciplines the nations, Does He not reprove – The One teaching man knowledge?
YHWH knows the thoughts of man, That they are but a breath.
Blessed is the man You discipline, O Yah, And instruct out of Your Torah, To give him rest from the days of evil, Until the pit is dug for the wrong.
For YHWH does not leave His people, Nor does He forsake His inheritance.
For judgment returns man to righteousness, And all the upright in heart follow it.
Who would rise up for me against evil-doers? Who would stand up for me against workers of wickedness?
If YHWH had not been my help, My being would soon have settled in silence.
When I said, “My foot has slipped,” Your mercy, O YHWH, supported me.
When anxiety was great within me, Your comforts delighted my being.
Would a throne of destruction, Which devises trouble by law, Be joined with You?
They band together against the life of the righteous, And declare innocent blood wrong.
But YHWH is my defense, And my Elohim the rock of my refuge, And brings back on them their own wickedness, And cuts them off in their own wrongdoing; YHWH our Elohim does cut them off.
Come, let us sing to YHWH! Let us raise a shout to the Rock of our deliverance.
Let us come before His face with thanksgiving; Let us raise a shout to Him in song.
For YHWH is a great Ěl, And a great King above all mighty ones.

Parshath T’tzavveh – תצוה – “You shall command”
Torah: Exodus 27:20-30:10
Haftarah: Ezekiel 43:10-27
Kethuvym Hatalmidym: 1 Timothy 2:1-8, Ephesians 6:10-20
Shalom alekykhem, achym, b’shem Yehoshua Moshienu ~ Peace unto you, my brothers, in the name of Yehoshua our Saviour.
Olat tamid l’doroteykham petach ohel moed lifney YHWH asher ivaed lakhem shamah l’daber Eylekha sham ~ “A continual ascending offering throughout your generations at the entrance of the tent of meeting before YHWH, where I will meet with them, there to speak there unto thee.”
This command that Aharon and his sons should offer up a lamb both in the morning and evening, daily and continually throughout their generations as a precondition to speaking with them is, for us, a lesson.
This offering was a whole burnt offering – one which was completely consumed on the bronze altar in the courtyard before the Mishkan. No part of it was allowed to be eaten. It was a complete giving up to YHWH.
These olah (ascending) offerings were the first and last offerings of each day. They bracketed and encased all other sacrifices, worship, and rituals performed, beginning and ending each day’s activities in the Mishkan. They were not done in silence but were accompanied by the fervent prayers of the Kohanym, then echoed or affirmed by all the people, as it is said, “Take with you words” and, “We offer the bulls of our lips.” These prayers were the very essence of the service of the altar, just as much, or moreso, than were the sacrifices themselves.
The prayers which were used during these services are no longer entirely known to us for certain. However, the core of them was the Amidah prayer – also known as the Shemona Esrei, the “Standing Prayer, or just simply as “The Prayer” – which is still to this day said by pious Yehudym each morning and eve. As with all the services in the Mishkan, these prayers now begin and end each day of the children of Yisrael in the presence of YHWH and wholly dedicate it to Him. All other studies, worship, deeds of Torah, and other activities are bracketed and encased between them. This is the lesson of the daily olah offerings for us – that we should begin and end every day of our lives, continually and for all of our generations, by drawing near to YHWH, giving ourselves completely to Him both in word and deed, then striving to fill all of the time in between with works of Torah which are devoted to Him, to our fellow mankind, and to the furtherance of His kingdom. If we do, He promises to meet with us there and speak to us. And then He promises even more:
V’shakanti b’tok bney Yisrael v’hayiyti, lahem L’eylohym. V’yadu ki Ani YHWH Eloheyhem asher hotzeyti otam meyeretz Mitzrayim Lashakni b’tokam. Ani YHWH Eloheyhem ~ “And I will dwell within the children of Yisrael and will exist to them as their Elohym. And they shall know that I am YHWH their Elohym that brought them forth from the land of Mitzrayim, for I dwell within them. I am YHWH their Elohym.”
May He bless you and speak to you as you begin, end, and fill your days walking prayerfully, and obediently, before Him.
B’shalom, Ovadyah

Who does not put out his money at interest and does not take a bribe against the innocent; he who does these things shall never be moved.
Psalms 15:5

This, of course, means that a man, who lends without interest and never takes advantage of the poor, will be frozen in time forever. He will never breath again nor take another step. Not a blink of an eye. Not a twitch. Not even a rustle of a single hair on the back of his neck.

#sarcasm because this is how some people really read the Bible. ?
