Thought for Today: Monday January 22

Sometimes, in the smallest details of our day, YHVH reveals the greatest depths of His love - in ways only His heart and ours understand.

Father, in the Name of Yeshua, forgive the us for disregarding the sanctity of life. We recognise that each person is uniquely created by You, Adonai – marvellously made! You know each one inside and out; You know every bone in the body. You know exactly how we are made, bit by bit, and how we are sculpted from nothing into something. All the stages of a life are spread out before You, and the days are prepared before a child even lives one day. Since we now see clearly, we value the life we give. Father, each of us is an open book to You; even from a distance, You know what we are thinking. We are never out of Your sight. When we look back, we realize that You were there. You were present when we put to death the foetus/foetuses to whom You gave life. Adonai, we repent of our sin and the sin of those who commit this crime. Be merciful unto us, O Adonai. We ask forgiveness, and You are faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all righteousness. Unless Your Law had been our delight, we would have perished in our afflictions. We will never forget Your precepts, for it is by them You have quickened us and granted us life. We are ready to halt and fall; our pain and sorrow are continually before us. For we do confess our guilt and iniquity; we are filled with sorrow for our sin. Instead of further rebuke, we now desire rather to turn and be forgiven and comforted by excessive sorrow and despair. We look to Yeshua as our Saviour and Consolation and welcome His Peace and completeness to our souls. We cannot bring our baby/babies back again; we shall go to them; they will not return to us. We are awaiting and looking for the blessed hope, even the glorious appearing of our great YHVH and Saviour, Yeshua Moshiach, Anointed One. In His Name and through His Blood we pray, amein.

SHALOM!

Here is your question for Yom Sheny found in today's Torah portion in Shemoth 14:9-14:

How did the children of Yisrael react when they saw Pharaoh drawing near?

16 B’shallach – Day 2
Sh’moth 14:9-14
And the Mitsrites pursued them, and all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen and his army, and overtook them camping by the sea beside Pi Haḥiroth, before Ba‛al Tsephon.
And when Pharaoh drew near, the children of Yisra’ěl lifted their eyes and saw the Mitsrites coming up after them. And they were greatly afraid, so the children of Yisra’ěl cried out to YHWH.
And they said to Mosheh, “Did you take us away to die in the wilderness because there are no burial-sites in Mitsrayim? What is this you have done to us, to bring us up out of Mitsrayim?
“Is this not the word that we spoke to you in Mitsrayim, saying, ‘Leave us alone and let us serve the Mitsrites?’ For it would have been better for us to serve the Mitsrites than to die in the wilderness.”
And Mosheh said to the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the deliverance of YHWH, which He does for you today. For the Mitsrites whom you see today, you are never, never to see again.
“YHWH does fight for you, and you keep silent.”

From this week's Torah portion:
“And Amaleq came and fought with Yisra’el in Rephidim. And Moshe said to Yehoshua, ‘Choose for us men and go out, fight with Amaleq. Tomorrow I am stationing myself on the top of the hill with the rod of Elohim in my hand.’ And Yehoshua did as Moshe said to him, to fight with Amaleq. And Moshe, Aharon, and Chur went up to the top of the hill. And it came to be, when Moshe held up his hand, that Yisra’el prevailed. And when he let down his hand, Amaleq prevailed. But Moshe’s hands were heavy, so they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat on it. And Aharon and Chur supported his hands, one on one side, and the other on the other side. And his hands were steady until the going down of the sun. And Yehoshua defeated Amaleq and his people with the edge of the sword. And YHWH said to Moshe, ‘Write this for a remembrance in the book and recite it in the hearing of Yehoshua, that I shall completely blot out the remembrance of Amaleq from under the heavens.’ And Moshe built an altar and called its name, YHWH Nissi, for he said, ‘Because a hand is on the throne of Yah, YHWH is to fight against Amaleq, from generation to generation.’”
