If you don't believe Moses, how can you expect to understand Yeshua, let alone believe Him?
John 5:42-47

Not today, because of the first of the month, but I am almost finished writing a business plan and financial projection for a zero waste bulk food store. I live in the Maharishi dominated part of Iowa. I am trying to establish business policies in line with Torah, but I dont want to get into legal trouble with the pride community that overtakes all the local businesses. I have had the idea to put signs on the doors that the store is rated g...no pda for any hetero or other relationships to avoid vulgar displays of gays making out in public like happened in front of my 7 year old daughter at the whole foods store. I have also made a floorplan that includes a quiet room for nursing mothers and those with overstimulation issues. The public bathroom is a family style bathroom and accessibility buttons will be added to the entrance/exit doors. Uniforms for the employees are almost all the same, except for the security guard, who has a different shirt and shoes. Im hoping through all these measures, I can avoid exiling potential employees and customers. I went through Torah and paraphrased commandments that pertain tothis business. I expect employees to abide by them. I may get into trouble because there is a large, active coven here and Torah says not to tolerate sorcery and the like. Any suggestions on how to protect my religious freedom without treading on someone elses same religious freedom? I just want to live in peace with my fellow citizens and have a successful business. Thank you for prayers & sugestions!
...the only God, who is at the Father's side, he has made him known.
John 1:18 ESV
...the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.
John 1:18 KJV
There's a big difference in apparent meaning between "the only God" and "the only begotten Son". The translations differ because ancient manuscripts differ. The oldest available manuscripts say "God". Most manuscripts (centuries later) say "Son".
Fortunately, it only matters if you take this one verse out of its context. Neither rendering changes the overall meaning of Scripture.
No one has ever seen God...
John 1:18a
"No one has ever seen God", yet we know from Scripture that Adam, Abraham, Jacob, Moses, and Joshua all saw God with their own eyes. John loves to present apparent contradictions that require the reader to pause and think deeply about his intended meaning. Never forget this as you read his Gospel!
Moses revealed God in part, the prophets added some depth, and Yeshua revealed God more fully than ever before. Yet no one has ever seen nor ever will see the fullness of YHWH in all his glory and complexity, because he is beyond human comprehension!
For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
John 1:17 ESV
Some translations incorrectly insert a "but" between the two clauses in this verse. The Law is not opposed to Grace and Truth. They work together. The Law given through Moses contains/reveals grace and truth, while the grace and truth given through Yeshua contains/reveals the true meaning and purpose of the Law.
John bore witness about him, and cried out, “This was he of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me ranks ahead me, because he preceded me.’”
John 1:15
#yeshua was conceived six months after John the Immerser, yet John proclaimed that Yeshua existed before he did. This is true because, although his body was created, his being has always existed. I think most English translations obscure the meaning in this verse a little by translating two different words as "before".
