#deuteronomy 29:11 speaks of sojourners who chop wood and draw water. It reminds me of the Gibeonites in Joshua 9: foreign woodcutters and water bearers dedicated to God's service. If wood is a metaphor of flesh and water of spirit, what does this mean?

This refers to people who are not native-born in Israel, but have chosen to join themselves to God's people and to keep his commandments. See also Isaiah 56:3: 'Let not the foreigner who has joined himself to YHWH say "YHWH will surely exclude me from his people".' Foreigners who have been grafted into Israel can count Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob as their own fathers. They are no longer foreigners, but Israelites who will receive their inheritance in the land when Messiah #yeshua returns.
