What would make TTN Social more appealing to use?

I have personally never been very active on any social media platforms. I had accounts for most of them, but closed it down over the past two years as I just don't use it.

I see a very similar trend on TTN where people pop in for a day or two and then some become more active, but others don't return.

My desire from day-1 has been that TTN become a meeting platform where people can talk about everything, not only Scripture. But yet people would rather use secular platforms where they get monitored and have to be wiery of what they say or their account will be closed.

Why would people rather have a Group on Facebook or a following on TikTok? It seems like people are more concerned to not have the difficult discussions on subjects they might not see eye-to-eye on with their family than to be associated with the world and their system.

We are trying to protect our "communities" from other believers rather than from what they can pick up from the world by using their systems. I would rather my children not have to use Facebook, Youtube, Tiktok, Twitter, etc. and be exposed to all the world has on offer than them seeing sincere discussions on a safe platform.

I need your feedback to understand what I can do to make TTN more usable, attractive, friendly (I don't know what to call it) so that people will want to use it.

Would you mind leaving your comments below so that I can work on making TTN Social what it is meant to be; a meeting place for the Torah community?

Having to friend someone to make a comment to a post is difficult. Often, the person takes days to accept the friendship, and by then ive forgotten what i wanted to say. Sometimes, a person never accepts a friendship. I use this exclusively on my android. I havent tried to dm anyone who hasnt first dm'd me since the update, so i cant say if that is working or not. My main problem is geography. No one is within 5 hours of me. Also, if discussions happen, they are very brief. I would like to in depth on subjects, but it seems like most would rather just reply with a thumbs up or heart (by the way, hearts are pagan symbols of fertility). I appreciate the daily posters, they give me something to think about each day, but some post and repost the same thing two or three times in a row from each of their accounts. I know you need the pro and ad posts for revenue, but some of them have been cycling at the top since i joined back in march or april. I dont say these things to complain. I think this is a wonderful sitte and im enjoying watching it grow! I say them because they are things i have noticed which may discourage others. Also, i found a group in austrailia who call themselves torah keepers. They do not believe in Yeshuas second coming since there is no evidence for it, according to them, in the OT. They dont believe most of the NT because quotes of torah were paraphrased. We may be offending groups like this by calling ourselves torah keepers and other names that are becoming denominational. I have to agree with GidgetsMom about the comments. Commenting was how we introduced ourselves to other believers and made friends. With that gone, the only thing I can do is "like" their post and hope they get curious and visit the profile. It's not conducive to fellowship or networking. If unwelcome comments was a problem with some people, the answer has always been the "block". Not being allowed to say things to people defeats the purpose of social networking.

Aside from that a trending posts section might be good. I don't mean a trending hashtag section. It will allow others to easily see what is catching the other's eye.
