13“If I shut up the heavens and there is no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among My people,
14and My people upon whom My Name is called, shall humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their evil ways, then I shall hear from the heavens, and forgive their sin and heal their land.

Whatever comes, whatever disaster seems about to ruin everything, God's perspective is greater. He is in control. Believe that He will move events in your favor.
The first evidence of faith is public acknowledgment. Declare your allegiance by acknowledging your sovereign before mankind, and then prove it by your faithfulness.
Matthew 10:31-33
Instead of arguing that life begins at conception, maybe we should argue that life begins when our Creator speaks our name. Jeremiah 1:5, " Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations."
This is what I picture when I think of how the Father looks at us when we refuse to obey His Commands. How childish do we look to Him, to think we have everything figured out and that we don't need to do what He tells us to do.
In this new series, I want to take a look at different things I went through and common questions I had or others had when we started following Torah as part of our walk with Jesus. The Sabbath is what started it all for me and several other people I know. For me, I had grown up with the thought that Sunday was the Sabbath. Everything closed down in small towns when it was Sunday. We went to church on Sunday. There were laws in place to not let people buy alcohol on Sundays. There was a lot around that day.
We later ran into a teaching, when looking into another Biblical question, that gave a challenge. The person said that the Sabbath never changed. It was still Friday night to Saturday night, as it was in Biblical times. They said that the only thing the Bible says about the Sabbath is to rest. Nothing else about it. You don't have to go to church, you just have to rest.
At the time, we had young children and were going 24/7. We had a full schedule of appointments and places to be. This didn't change just because it was the weekend. When we heard that God commanded a rest day from Creation and read about it ourselves, we thought it was a great idea. We scheduled it out. We said in a month, we would be able to take this rest day. We were going to try and get everything we could done so that we could just take a day and rest. And we did. That day, we played games with the kids. Read our Bibles. Just laid around the house. IT...WAS...AWESOME! After it was over, we knew we had to do it again. It reenergized us so much. It gave us a hunger for more in Scripture. So, we did do it again, and again and again. We haven't stopped doing the Sabbath since that first time. It has blessed our family so much and we have grown closer together as a family because of it.
My question to you reading this: If you don't keep the Sabbath as a day of rest, why not? In the first part of this series, we are going to dive deeper into the Sabbath and look at some of the reasons I had or have been given to me by others. We will break each of them down with Scripture and see how they hold up. Until next time.

Thought for Today: Monday October 31:
Let us close our eyes, open our ears and listen to the Love Song Elohiym is constantly singing to us. You will hear His voice: [I take great delight in you… I rejoice over you with singing…]. The voices of this world are a cacophony of chaos, pulling us this way and that way. Do not listen to those voices; rather, challenge them with the Word and Laws of YHVH. Learn today to take regular breaks from the world, finding a place where you can be still in His Presence and listen to His Voice. There are immense hidden treasures to be found through listening to YHVH’s Voice. Although He pours out blessings upon us always, some of His Richest blessings have to be actively sought. He Loves to reveal Himself to us and our seeking hearts open us up to receive more of His disclosure. [Ask and it will be given to you, seek and you will find, knock and the door will be opened to you.]
