I call my current walk the ultimate WWJD walk as WWJD was a big part of my life when I was younger. It was everywhere and it was something that related to me. It wasn't until I started reading the Bible on my own that I actually understood what this really meant though. The comic gives a summary for those unfamiliar with WWJD. This isn't the first account of people wearing something to look at and ask themselves if they are behaving correctly though.
In Numbers 15 we have an instance of someone out gathering wood on the Sabbath. Right after God said, "Hey, you know what. I want you to rest on the Sabbath. I created the Sabbath for resting. So, don't do any work." Moses goes to God to find out what to with this person. After getting the judgement, God then says for everyone to make tassels/fringes on their garments. These fringes were to be looked at to remind them to do what God has commanded, essentially how they are supposed to behave as a person.
From a standpoint of WWJD and fringes: He wore them. So, if Jesus wore them, and we are trying to live like Jesus did, shouldn't we wear them, too? I know, for me, I've enjoyed having them. They do their job at reminding me at times when I need it. They also have started conversations with people. And, they are really fun to make.
I subtitled the comic "The original WWJD wearable" because when we look at Jesus' life as a human on Earth, we know what He did. He followed God's commands. If He didn't, He wouldn't be the spotless/sinless lamb that was required to take our sin away. These fringes are part of those commands. What is even cooler though, is when looking at them we don't have to wonder "What Would Jesus Do?", we can know "What Jesus Did Do" as we can look back in the Scriptures and see what God commanded on how to act in different situations.
In the next couple of comics we are going to look at a two of the main objections I have heard when it comes to wearing fringes.

Immeasurably More
What’s the boldest prayer you can think to pray? Or the most incredible thing you can dare to imagine?
Did you know that YHWH can top it?
Paul said it like this:
“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us…”
Ephesians 3:20 NIV
You know those quiet dreams in your heart? Abba put them there. You know that ache for something better than this broken world? Abba gave you that desire. You know the deepest longings of your soul? Abba knows how to fulfill them.
Like Paul said, Abba can do more than we ask or imagine, but we also must remember the second part of his words: according to his power at work within us.
It’s all ABBA’s power and His plan. But He has invited us into it.
So what’s our part in this process?
We can give glory to Him—knowing that it’s Him who gives us the desire and power to do what pleases Him (Philippians 2:13). He created us, loves us, and has entrusted us with sharing His message with the world.
We can submit ourselves to His plan—knowing that it’s all Abba, but He chooses to work in and through His people to accomplish His purposes. He doesn’t need us to be perfect, He just wants us to be willing.
We can trust Him with the process—knowing that He is good, righteous, worthy, strong, and eternal. We don’t have to know all the answers because we already have Him, and He can do more than we can ask or imagine.
