So long as heaven and earth stand, God's covenant with Israel stands and so does His #torah. See also Deuteronomy 32:1 and Jeremiah 33:25.

Keep in mind that the Torah, aka the Law of Moses or the Law of God as given through Moses, is not the same as the Sinai Covenant. The Law is included in he Covenant, but they are two separate things

If I make an agreement with you to keep the laws of Texas, that doesn't make the laws of Texas the same thing as my agreement. If I were to die or move to Australia where the laws of Texas don't apply, the laws would remain. Same thing with God's Law. Which is not to say that you can escape God's Law by relocating or refusing the covenant. It exists independently of any covenants because God exists, and his commandments are an extension of his unchanging character.

Matthew 5:17 is a continuation of 5:16. They shouldn't be separated. To paraphrase: "Continue doing good works openly, for this honors God. What? Did you think I came to do away with good works?"

The light you must not hide is the love of God that you bring into the world. The Law and the Prophets tell you how to do that. #yeshua didn't do away w mercy, peace, kindness, and righteousness. These are the whole of the Law, therefore he did not do away with the Law. #torah
