Shoftim is Hebrew for "judges". This week's Torah portion begins by instructing the people to appoint qualified, godly people as civil judges and leaders.

Here are some Apostolic passages to study alongside #torah Parsha #shoftim (Deuteronomy 16:18-21:9), with corresponding videos and commentary: https://www.americantorah.com/....2021/03/23/parsha-sh

Daily Prayer

Baruch Attah Adonai Eloheinu Melech HaOlam, blessed are You Adonai our YHVH ROHI, King of the universe for You have revealed Your hidden glory to us in the face of our Adonai Yeshua Moshiach. You are always with us and always willing and ready to hear our prayers. You have called us by our Name and wait for us to turn to You. You have chosen us to work with You and You seek to fill us with Ruach HaKodesh. We give thanks for men and women of prayer who have revealed Your love and helped us to know of Your presence, in their churches. We pray tonight for all evangelists, ministers, rabbi’s, teachers of Your Word and all who bear witness to Your glory. We pray for the troubles and sadness of our world. We lay our hands in the spirit on, and pray for all who have lost their vision, who are blind to Your goodness and unaware of Your presence or Your love. We pray for those who feel that life is without purpose and meaningless. We give thanks for all who love us, for our families and our friends. We know that You reveal Your love through their love. We ask Your blessing on homes where there is little or no love, where there is violence, neglect or mental abuse. We give You thanks for all who have been called to share in Your healing powers and we ask that you bless all doctors, paramedics, fire personnel, security forces, police and ambulance staff. We ask Your comfort on all who are sick, with a disability, on their death bed or all who have lost a loved one recently. We ask Your blessing on all who are struggling with life, who are anxious, depressed or who are in financial difficulty. We rejoice and give thanks for Adonai Yeshua Who share in our prayers and makes intercession for us in heaven. We ask that You teach us to forgive others as You forgive us and we ask Your compassion to forgive us our sins. We pray this in the Mighty Name of our Saviour Yeshua Moshiach, amen.

If there is a single, ultimate Creator of the universe, then logically he must be infinitely powerful, infinitely wise. He would be terrifying beyond our imagination with standards higher than we could ever reach...so we set our sights lower. We ignore the Creator and worship creatures because they don't demand anything too big. We can make them weak and flawed, just like us, and then pat ourselves on the back for how great we are.

Why do people worship idols? Romans 1:22-23

Claiming to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and creeping things. Romans 1:22-23 ESV If there is a single,

Conflict often stems from jealousy, 1 Samuel 18:7, “And the women answered one another as they played, and said, Saul hath slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands.” Saul was jealous of David’s popularity among the people but didn’t understand the reason for that popularity. Yes David famously killed Goliath yet David’s humble heart is what made him popular.

Thought for Today: Sunday August 13:

Begin today, no matter how feeble the light, let it shine as best it may. The world may need just that quality of light which you have.

CONDEMNATION
A healing prayer to use when you are experiencing feelings of condemnation

References:
Romans 8:1-2, 4, 21 --- John 8:32 --- John 14:6 --- John 15:16, 26 --- John 16:13 --- John 17:17 --- 2 John 4 --- Revelation 12:10 --- James 4:7 --- 2 Corinthians 10:5 --- Galatians 5:1-2

Healing Promise:
“There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Yeshua Moshiach, who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. For the Law of the Spirit of life in Yeshua Moshiach has made me free from the law of sin and death.” (Romans 8:1-2)

Healing Prayer:
Heavenly Abba, thank You for making me free from the law of sin and death. Help me to fulfil Your will for my life by walking according to the Spirit, not according to my flesh. Because I am in Yeshua Moshiach, I know that all condemnation has been removed from me, for the Law of the Spirit of life in Yeshua Moshiach has made me free from the law of sin and death. Thank You Abba my Adonai and my YHVH. Your truth has made me free Abba. Thank You for Yeshua, Who is the Way, the Truth and the Life for me. Thank You for the Spirit of truth who guides me into all truth. Your Word is truth and I thank You for revealing to me the truth that I never need to feel condemned. From this time forward I will walk in the truth that I am free from condemnation forever. The liberty You have given me is glorious indeed. With Your help Abba, I will no longer believe the devil’s lies when he comes with his accusations, to try to make me feel condemnation. I will submit myself and my thoughts to You Abba and I will resist the devil and he will flee from me according to Your Word. I will cast down every condemning thought that comes my way and I will take such thoughts captive unto the obedience of Moshiach my Adonai. Thank You for enabling me to stand fast in the liberty by which Moshiach has made me free. I absolutely refuse to be entangled again with the yoke of bondage that condemnation has always brought to me. I am free indeed. Thank You my Abba. In the all-powerful Name of Yeshua I pray, amen.
