I have heard people dismiss Yeshua's instructions to keep the Law as applying only to the Jews before Calvary, but if Matthew 5:19 "Whoever does and teaches the Law..." is only for the Jews, then so is Matthew 5:14 "You are the light of the world...". Same sermon. Same audience.

So long as heaven and earth stand, God's covenant with Israel stands and so does His #torah. See also Deuteronomy 32:1 and Jeremiah 33:25.

Keep in mind that the Torah, aka the Law of Moses or the Law of God as given through Moses, is not the same as the Sinai Covenant. The Law is included in he Covenant, but they are two separate things

If I make an agreement with you to keep the laws of Texas, that doesn't make the laws of Texas the same thing as my agreement. If I were to die or move to Australia where the laws of Texas don't apply, the laws would remain. Same thing with God's Law. It exists independently of any covenants because God exists, and his commandments are an extension of his unchanging character.

If you've ever learned a little of a foreign language, you've probably encountered cognates and loans, words that have similar sounds and meanings in two different languages.

If you've learned a LOT of a foreign language or learned multiple languages, then you've also encountered false cognates, words that sound similar, but don't mean the same thing and probably have no connection at all. There's a limit to the number of pronounceable sounds that people can make, so every language will have words that sound like words in some other language, but that have totally different meanings.

For two silly examples:

- God (in English) and Gad (in Hebrew)
- Jesus (in Spanish) and Hey Zeus (in English)

Unfortunately, this quirk of language can really be very confusing for people who aren't aware of it.

I understand that people learn differently. Some need audio and/or video to get their information. That isn't what I am speaking out against here. I see way too many people going down the path of seeking "hidden" knowledge, or "new" insights to old knowledge, or just anything different that is available out there.

If you search popular believer video channels out there, you can see this in just the titles/thumbnails. Titles in all caps with words such as WARNING or HIDDEN or PROPHETIC or TRUE ORIGINS. Phrases like "You need to know", "you need to stop ignoring", or "banned from the Bible".

A lot of times these "teachers" don't actually understand either what they are teaching or the Bible. I have seen videos people have sent me and see the people saying things that don't line up, either due to ignorance or blatant disregard. Some are just rehashing other people's teachings, very poorly I might add, but they are up there teaching it like they came up with it and it is absolute truth.

Then you have the path that a lot are actually taking after listening to these sensationalist "teachers": they end up straying from the faith. I have even seen a few of these "teachers" deny Christ, then God, and now actively speaking out against God.

Read for yourself. Test for yourself. Study for yourself. I know, for me, I have gotten to a point that I don't watch/listen to any teachers that often. If I do, because I come across something that interests me, I go back and validate what they are saying.

Acts 17:11 Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.

Isn't that what we are supposed to be doing?
