This prophecy concerns the Messianic Era, which has not yet come. Over and over, God promised to restore a remnant of the descendants of Jacob to glory in that Day, yet some Christians still insist that God is done with the Jews. Most people believe what they want to believe, despite what God says.

The precise identities of the stones on the High Priest's uniform are unknown today. We don't even really know their colors. We can only speculate. Onyx (the stones on his shoulders) is often black and white, but can come in many colors. I wonder what color the High Priest's onyx was. He wears the names of the 12 tribes on his shoulders and precious stones representing each of them over his heart. Could this be a picture of judgment tempered by considered mercy?
