Thought for Today: Tuesday January 25:
Make YHVH the focal point of your search for security today. In your private thoughts, you are still trying to order your world so that it is predictable and feels safe. Not only is this an impossible goal but it is also counterproductive to spiritual growth. When your private world feels unsteady and you grip His hand for support, you are living in conscious dependence on Him. Instead of yearning a problem-free life, rejoice that trouble can highlight your awareness of YHVH’s Presence. In the darkness of adversity, you are able to see more clearly the radiant of His Face. Accept the value of problems in this life, considering them pure joy. Remember that you have an eternity of trouble free living waiting you in heaven.
Good words for parents…
If fire breaks out and catches in thorns so that the stacked grain or the standing grain or the field is consumed, he who started the fire shall make full restitution.
#exodus 22:6 #mishpatim
The key in dealing with accidental damages is restitution. The idea is not to punish someone for making a mistake, but to make it right. Punitive damages for negligence should be strictly limited regardless of the resources of the perpetrator.
Great list of resources for Torah keeping families. I am honored to be included.
