But those tenants said to one another, ‘This is the heir. Come, let us kill him, and the inheritance will be ours.’

The only way this scheme would work is if the son was an only child and the tenants were close relatives. Otherwise, they would have no expectation of receiving an inheritance from his death. Per God's Law, inheritance in the Land of Israel must always go from father to son or to daughter if he has no sons. If the man has no children, then his brothers or uncles will be his heirs.

Hold fast to what is good.” Paul’s advise comes from his familiarity with Deuteronomy 13 which teaches us how to test a prophet. How are we to know what is fact and what is fiction? We use the Bible as our standard, our guide to teach us what is acceptable and what is not. Before we make a purchase we should consider if what we are buying is acceptable to our Creator. Before we believe any advertising or any experts opinion, we should first remember what our Creator has already told us about such things. Does our Creator care about which brand of laundry detergent you use? I doubt it, but He most certainly does care about who you choose to listen to.
