When Esau and Jacob parted company, Esau took the land formerly claimed by Lot near Sodom. Coincidence? Probably not.

Esau's descendants followed his example. They built kingdoms and cities long before his brother Jacob did, but they burned out quickly. They were now-people, where God's people are tomorrow-people. Where is Edom today and where is Israel?

The Passion of Esau - American Torah

Two weeks ago, I wrote about how Esau wanted to do the right thing but never stopped to ask what that was. Last week, I wrote about some of Jacob’s encounters with angels and his trust in God. This week, I’m going to beat up on Esau again

In #romans 1:1 Paul said that he was commissioned to preach the Gospel of God, but what exactly is the "Gospel"? Don't just assume you know what it means. Verse 2 points us in the right direction: It was promised beforehand through the Prophets of the Old Testament.

Multi-generational living is somewhat sneered at in modern times, but it is hugely valuable, beyond the material savings. It connects the generations and passes on wisdom and godly values. Let's bring back the old fashioned ways.?

Why Multi-Generational Living IS a Blessing

Multi-generational living is about finding comfortable, permanent housing for the whole family, keeping the clan nearby, and saving a LOT in the process.

In Genesis 32:22-23, Jacob escorted his family across the Jabbok river in small groups and then returned by himself, possibly just to make sure nothing had been left behind. The Jabbok river isn't deep, but the banks are steep and the terrain rugged.

But you said, ‘I will surely do you good, and make your offspring as the sand of the sea, which cannot be numbered for multitude.’
Genesis 32:12 ESV

Sand of the sea and stars of the sky... These phrases aren't meant to be literal. The point is that the descendants of Abraham, through Isaac and Jacob, will become a great multitude.

Therefore let us not judge one another from now on, but rather decide this—not to put a stumbling block or a trap in the way of a brother.
Romans 14:13 TLV

In any matter on which the Scriptures are ambiguous or silent, Yeshua's people must give one another grace to come to differing conclusions, even if it means following different religious practices. Whenever possible and when there is reasonable room for interpretation, for the sake of unity, peace, and a consistent public face, a congregation should agree on practices that affect everyone.
