The question was receintly asked, “Why don’t my prayers get answered now that I’ve stopped praying on the name of Jesus?”

A great question.

Many people believe there’s no power in the name of Jesus because we made it up.

And yet evil spirits flee in that name.
Healings happen in that name.
Miracles and mighty wonders.

Yet we know for a fact that’s not actually His Name?

So why do powerful things happen in this name and why does that power seem to disappear when we decide to stop calling Him by that fake name?

Maybe it’s another power feeding the deception all along?

Or maybe the power is in our belief rather than the name we claimed? Like a placebo.

Of that we can not speak because we can not know.

But what we do know is this…

Prayer never worked the way churchianity said it was supposed to. Sure we got what we wanted when we said the magic made up word “Jesus” but prayer isn’t supposed to get us stuff. We stop getting the magical answers when we stop treating the Most High like a genii. Prayer is intended to attune our will with His not to get us things. And we don’t mean tvs and cars and money. We mean praying for health and healing and wisdom and all the other good stuff we were taught to ask for in Christendom. True prayer is intended to bind us to the Almighty, bringing our concerns to Him to hand them over. Not “I need healing, etc.” but rather “here is my want of healing etc. Do with it as You will.”

…and He will.

We can have the magic if we want it but it’s all manufactured and vapid as the name we spoke to try to get it.

The Church may have taught us to show up with a list of wants and needs, but the Saviour didn’t teach us that pattern for prayer.

He taught us to show up confident to commune with our Creator. To call on His Name. To give Him all praise. And to trust Him to provide all things that we already know He already knows we need for living out the life He gave us.

Pray to put Him over all no matter what happens. And your prayers will be answered. Just dont expect the answers to be like they were in churchianity. They were never supposed to be.

"If a man shall open a pit, or if a man shall dig a pit, and not cover it, and an ox or an ass fall therein; the owner of the pit shall make it good, and give money unto the owner of them; and the dead shall be his."

Thought for Today: Monday July 22

You can wait for YHVH because He is faithful, merciful and powerful. He always welcomes you into His presence. Even though you may admit to some reluctance, He nevertheless awaits those few precious moments when you lift your face and heart to Him.

Here is a Messianic Bible translation I hope to someday get when a large print becomes available. It is called the New Jeruslem Version (not to be confused with the New Jersulem Bible). It is a literal word for word translation based on the ASV.

Although they are not promoters of Sacred Name, it can be used as a Sacred Name bible because God's name is written in Hebrew, giving the reader the choice of pronunciation. The Messiah's name is written as Yeshua.

Here is the link to a book review:

This Bible doesn't seem to have the same issues that Chris Deweese has with other sacred name Bibles. So I am excited about this one.

Question: Is it possible to work as a server without sinning (because most restaurants sell meals that have unclean/unkosher meat)?

This is something that you would need to pray over for guidance. Scripturally, I haven't come across an example of this. We know that stuff isn't food. However, you are keeping the command by not eating it. It is one of those grey areas, I feel. Is it a good idea? No, but I also know folk that have to work Sabbath because it was their job before coming to the knowledge of keeping commands, and they can't get it changed. They already committed to working it when they signed on. The whole "let your yes be yes" that Yeshua taught us. -- I know this probably isn't what you are looking for. I see this as something you are going to have people say definitively "yes" or "no" and both sides will have compelling arguments.

As a former discount grocery store owner, I can say that I tried not to profit from the sale of unclean foods. I would give it away or mark it very low. If I'd had the choice of what came in the pallets, I wouldn't have carried unclean food at all. That being said, people are going to get unclean food if that's what they want, no matter what you do as a career. Hopefully, you don't have to announce pork tenderloin specials to every customer you serve, but that falls on the restaurant owner more than on you. I'd be more concerned about being required to work on the sabbath. Get it in writing that you don't have to work on the sabbath, and define it in writing. Employers are allowed to change your hours without notice, and it is very common in food service. But, as for the serving of unclean food, don't touch it (you shouldn't be touching people's food anyway) and try to not steer people toward unclean food. Who knows? Perhaps it will give you an oppportunity to witness or help another believer avoid unclean food. Hope you get the job, if you haven't already!

I think it is possible to work as a server without sinning because it is the customer's choice to eat the unclean meats. You are not forcing them to eat it.

As it is written, “Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offense; and whoever believes in him will not be put to shame.”
Romans 9:33 ESV

This quote is an amalgam of Isaiah 8:14 and 28:16. The Apostles frequently paraphrased Scripture or mixed and matched passages to make a point. We often condemn today’s preachers for being so apparently cavalier with the Scriptures, but whether they are right or wrong depends heavily on context and intent.
