Rev 12 sign

As I am finishing my annual Bible reading this month, I am now in Revelation on the much popularised `sign in the heaven`. So many people have tried to explain and predict what the future holds by what they see on their computer screens.

But is that what the sign is about and if so, hasn't parts of it already taken place?

John wrote in 12:1: "And a great sign appeared in heaven"

The questions that I am stuck with are:

1. Is this an actual visible sign that can/could be seen with the naked eye?
2. Was it in the heaven that John was in or in our starry sky?
3. Is this sign a story of our past and future being told in the vision or is it a 100% foretelling of future events and an actual sign we need to look out for?

The verse that really makes me wonder and that none of the YouTube prophets ever cover is the last part of v5:

"And she gave birth to a Son, a male Child, who is destined to rule all the nations with a rod of iron; and her Child was caught up to God and to His throne."

a. If this is a real event that we need to look out for in the starts, then why do all the heavenly objects that they are looking at always stay on a straight line and don't get "rapped" after passing through Virgo?

b. Why doesn't Virgo ever get wings and move from "her" starry location after giving “birth”?

c. If v5 has already taken place and Yeshua is the “male child” and this isn’t just a story being told (as opposed to an actual event in the stars that we have to look out for) in the vision, does it then mean that we are already in Rev 12 so a significant part of Revelation has already taken place?

What are your thoughts on this?

Star signs are bad witch craft, sorcery as the Bible says. how do you interpret revelations chapter 12 means star signs??

Removal of leaven...

Ashlyn and I were thinking on what we have to do to prepare for Passover. The thing that made us wonder is how far do we go with cleaning out the house of leaven.

We have looked into baking powder and baking soda and are personally convinced that it is not a yeast product. Our test is that Scripture says that a little leaven, leavens the whole lump. Baking powder definitely does not meet this test.

1. But does the prohibition against leavening include things that could be used to make leaven? For instance; raisins, grapes, grape leaves, potatoes, dust (to a certain extent), etc.

2. What about products that are yeast derivatives like Marmite, protein powder, etc.?

3. Also, is the instruction to remove products that have been prepared with leaven or not to eat it during the feast period? So, we should remove leaven, but not eat leavened products.

What is your understanding on this?

I researched what the things i thought were leaven really are and do. Nutritional yesat and yeast extract are dead, and therefore do not cause fermentation. Grapes ferment because of the skin bacteria if you dont try to hurry it with yeast & sugar. Beer would be out. Some hard liqours are probably out. But wine that has fermented of itself is fine, as this is a natural process that wasnt figured out how to stop until Welch figured it out in the 1800s. Alcohol was the only safe thing to drink in ancient times. Baking soda fizzes, but is not causing fermentation. Ill try to post some of the links i have.

I haven't read this whole conversation, but I will say this. The word translated as leaven is not the same word translated as yeast. At least that's my understanding. There are so many different viewpoints on this. My suggestion is to simply read the scriptures and read what you can about the different viewpoints while praying for discernment. Do as the Holy Spirit leads you according to your situation in life and your understanding of the Word of God.
