In difficult times, YHVH wants us to listen to His voice and lean on Him, rather than resisting. That is when we find rest and the hope our hearts crave.

v1 - Like Pharaoh, King Herod feared a growing population of people who were "different".
vs3-5 - Like the Hebrews, Peter was unjustly put in bondage.
v8 - A messenger told Peter to don his cloak & sandals & follow him.
v8 - As with the Hebrews, the angel told Peter to leave quickly.
v10 - God protected Peter from the prison guards during his escape.
v10 - God parted the prison gates like the Red Sea so Peter could escape.
v22 - The people worshiped Herod like a god, like Pharaoh.
v23 - God struck down Herod as he struck down Pharaoh & the Egyptian gods.

The first and last days of Unleavened Bread are some of the few days that are "Sabbaths" (even if it falls on a Wednesday!) that also specifically lists cooking as OK. So maybe we'll do a BBQ tomorrow. Or a family picnic. Or both. So many fun ideas!?
