Circumcision
Reading Exodus 12 verses 43-49 made me think again about circumcision for Torah followers.
V43 says "43 And the Lord said unto Moses and Aaron, This is the ordinance of the passover: There shall no stranger eat thereof:". The instructions are then given on whom can eat of the Passover.
When we study circumcision in the New Testament then it can't contradict Torah, so looking at the topic with new eyes it doesn't look to me like circumcision has been done away with.
What I understand is that it is important to be circumcised in the heart. But does that then mean that the act of circumcision is not needed or that after receiving the faith that men still have to be circumcised as a sign of the covenant?
This is like a boy being circumcised on day-8 and then growing up without Torah. His circumcision means nothing to him as it is merely a cut in the flesh. But what if a grown man comes to faith, shouldn't we then still have a cut in the flesh?
If not then what determines which laws we do follow? Only the ones that doesn't have anything to do with blood or the ones that are easy or practicable in our modern day?
What is your understanding of this?
