Whoever is slothful will not roast his game, but the diligent man will get precious wealth.
Proverbs 12:27 ESV
This is the only Bible use of the word kharak, translated as "roasts". This could be interpreted two ways:
1. A slothful man wastes what he has by failing to preserve it, while a diligent man continues to accrue greater wealth because he has taken the time to secure it before moving on to the next task.
2. The word kharak could refer to catching game rather than cooking it, in which case the point is that the slothful man doesn't even have enough for today, let alone for future generations.
Either interpretation is true, regardless of which one is the intended meaning.
Many have caused their own slavery. Take care of them by putting them to work, not giving free rides to the able bodied. Don't add to their troubles by enabling their descent. For the truly needy, don't put conditions on charity unless it helps to keep their spirits up. We all need to be needed.
There's no kindness in continuing to bail out a brother who is busy making more holes in his own hull, but we should always be ready to help when he shows signs of repentance even if he doesn't deserve it.

I am sure that if you follow world events then you must have come across this phrase before. A smiling face telling us that we will be happy with the new system.
