I've decided to shut down the shop/business portion of our website. The shop doesn't make enough to justify the loads of extra tax work we have to do with the state.
No biggie, I knew that I wasn't able to put enough time towards drumming up business. So we're gonna stick with what we like to do best:
making worship music!
Parsha #metsora (Lev 14-15) demonstrates that tumah (spiritual uncleanness) is not the same as sinfulness. Most people will probably be unclean most of the time through routine contact with death, sex, menstruation, etc. Sometimes even keeping God's commandments will make a person unclean. "Be fruitful and multiply" is a mitzvah (commandment), but obedience makes you unclean. #metzora #torah
A chiastic structure in #leviticus 15 indicates that v2-3 are probably addressing male sexual function, and not just any kind of bodily discharge. There are at least two chiastic structures in this chapter centered on the transmission of uncleanness from people to things, things to people, and people to people. #metzora

“Do not keep silent, O God! Do not hold Your peace, And do not be still, O God! For behold, Your enemies make a tumult; And those who hate You have lifted up their head.
They have taken crafty counsel against Your people, And consulted together against Your sheltered ones.
They have said, “Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation, That the name of Israel may be remembered no more.””
Psalms 83:1-4 NKJV
Biblical "uncleanness" (tumah) isn't necessarily caused by sin, but by a loss of life force (nephesh behemah). The greater the loss of nephesh behemah, the greater the resulting tumah. A dead human is more tamei than a dead animal because a greater level of nephesh behemah has been lost. Unclean spirits might be "unclean" because they possess negative life force.
