I’m not a philosopher but philosophy can be useful when applied correctly so here is a philosophical question; If evolution were true, how would mankind ever have the opportunity to adapt rules for social order? Animals have what we know as a “pecking” order by which they establish who is in control but mankind is different. We have, throughout the history of mankind had an approach to social order that is much different than any of the animals but that is not all that separates us. 1 Corinthians 15:39, “Not all flesh is the same: Men have one kind of flesh, animals have another, birds another, and fish another.”

3rd or 4th Temple

I understand that some believers are waiting for the 3rd Temple to be built. This could be as a sign of the end-times or because they want to go there and do sacrifices themselves; bearing in mind that only the sin sacrifice has been replaced by Yeshua's sacrifice and the other 4 sacrifice types will commence on the New Earth.

Reading 1 Maccabees which spans the "400 quiet years" it tells of the temple being rebuilt as the 3rd Temple. This will then make the expected Temple construction the 4th version.

(Side Note: 1 and 2 Maccabees include within them the earliest references to the story of Hannukah and reads just like other books in the current Bible canon.)

1. Is there any significance to the version number of the expected Temple?

2. Also, do you accept 1 and 2 Maccabees as Scripture or totally reject it and why?

I accept these books, as they give important "missing" info. The reason the protestants left them out is because they are supposedly giving more power to the priests than protestants wanted, like wisdom and sirach supposedly do. The priests need to have some power to govern in a theocracy! Its not exactly Yah's original blueprint, but chaos had ensued. As for the number of the temple, I dont think it matters too much. Yes, Yah has favorite numberrs, but I dont think Herods temple counts. It wasnt commenced upon Yahs order.

Ezekiel 43: 19 You are to give a young bull as a sin offering[l] to the Levitical priests of the family of Zadok, who come near to minister before me, declares the Sovereign Lord.

This is speaking of a future Temple during the Millennial Reign.

I view the Maccabees books similar to some other books in the Canon. They are history, and worth being studied for that. Should we put major focus on them? Probably not.

How many sermons or teachings have you come across on 1 or 2 Chronicles?

Same for the other extra books that are included in the Septuagint. Although the Esdras books are supposed to include the prophecies of Ezra. I haven't read them yet. -- Why? Because they are part of the Septuagint. It is one of our oldest sources for Scripture, but at the same time the TaNaK of Judaism and the OT of Protestant Christianity are the same and do not include those books either and I believe there is something to that. Which is why I don't put a lot of weight to them.

From what I have read of the books, they are interesting and can give some good insight to thoughts and behaviors of the time.

to see nothing is not a sign. you must see something in order for it to be a sign.

darkness represents sin and separation... the first sliver of light is the hope we wait for as a sign of the gospel. sliver is the sign.

If you were baptized by immersion in mainstream Christianity, and then became a Torah follower in Yeshua afterwards, is it necessary to be baptized or water immersed again?

Yes, it is necessary to be baptized again.
No, it is not necessary to be baptized again.

I don't think it's necessary, so long as you understood what you were doing. However, I think it's entirely up to a person. I see no problem with being immersed again. After all immersion is quite common and Judaism for a variety of reasons. Personally, I would like to be immersed again. I think if I had my way, I would probably do it once a year as a reminder of the commitment that I've made. But that's just me personally.

I never thought about this myself before and Acts 19:1-5 is the closest example I can come up with where someone was baptized multiple times.

"While Apollos was at Corinth, Paul took the road through the interior and arrived at Ephesus. There he found some disciples and asked them, 'Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?'
They answered, 'No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.'
So Paul asked, 'Then what baptism did you receive?'
'John’s baptism,' they replied.
Paul said, 'John’s baptism was a baptism of repentance. He told the people to believe in the one coming after him, that is, in Jesus.' On hearing this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus."

Love/hate Paul's teachings, but it seems to come down to the actual belief during the baptism.

My new found understanding is that even if you called Yeshua "Jesus" before and got baptised as you believed in His saving sacrifice and only later came to understand His Jewish roots shouldn't make a difference in the actual baptism.

If you were baptised without that belief as either a baby or just because others did it, then I would say that a person must be baptized again.

I agree with everyone above, that theres no problem with being immersed again. The temple had a mass mikvah you had to cross to get into the temple. Without it, you were unclean and could not enter the temple. There are many situations in life that make us unclean and require immersion. The jews believe in a permanent state of uncleanliness without the sacrifices for sin to complete the ritual. Even the sacrificial animals had to go through pools to enter the temple. If your heart is leading you to be immersed, do so. If you have the Spirit (trust me, theres no mistaking it), then perhaps its not necessary, although pentecost occured without immersion first. Its all a matter of the heart.
