4 Horsemen - Rev 6

So, I was brought up (rather "scared up" ) in the church about the 4 Horsemen and the 7-year Tribulation. The movie "A Thief in the Night" was burned into my memory as a teenager.

I now understand that the tribulation only starts at the halfway mark, so after the first 3.5 years. So the Tribulation is only 3.5 years and then that gets shortened or no flesh would survive...

Reading Rev 6:8 with more attention yesterday, it dawned on me that only a 1/4 of the world will suffer at that point. It reads:

"They (the 4 horsemen) were given authority and power over a fourth part of the earth, to kill with the sword and with famine and with plague (pestilence, disease) and by the wild beasts of the earth."

Yes, persecution will take place across the world as per Matt 24, but in some regions more than others as each of the 7 churches are given different instructions to prepare themselves spiritually for what lies ahead.

As example, Ukraine as well as Israel are currently in wars and there is a lot of suffering there, but here in the UK the consequences are higher food and gas prices. Sitting here in my living room this morning, my life isn't being threatened and I don't feel famine. Yet that is what some people in Ukraine and Israel might be experiencing.

So, my thinking is that the impact of the 4 Horsemen are felt worldwide, but the direct suffering is localized. From the 6th seal onwards, it is a worldwide chastisement though...

Am I missing something in my thinking?

Healing Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Word and all the personal promises it contains, especially Your promise of fruitfulness and prosperity to those who meditate on Your Word daily. I claim this promise as I pray and I promise You that I will be one of those who reaps Your promises of fruitfulness and prosperity as a result of regular Bible mediation. Help me Father, to walk not in the council of the unYHVHly. Help me not to stand in the path of sinners or sit in the seat of the scornful. My delight is in Your Word and I will meditate on it’s precepts both day and night. Father, make me strong and courageous to observe and to do according to Your Word. Through Your grace I will not turn to the right hand or to the left and this will lead me into the prosperity You have promised me. Father, I commit myself not to let Your Word depart from my mouth. I will meditate in it day and night and this will lead me to do what Your Word says. The promised result will be my inheritance; it will make my way prosperous and it will ensure my good success. Thank You Father for Your promise of prosperity and success, which comes from meditating upon Your Word. Father I will attend to Your Words and incline my ear to Your sayings. I will keep them before my eyes and in the midst of my heart, for they are life to me and health to all my flesh. Enable me to walk in Your statutes and keep Your Commandments and to do them as Your Word directs. Make Your Face shine upon me and be gracious unto me. I will always endeavour to obey and serve You Father and I know this will permit me to spend my days in prosperity and my years in pleasure. Thank You my almighty YHVH. Father, thank You for Your promises to make me the head and not the tail and to place me above only and not beneath. I thank You that You establish my thoughts as I commit my works totally to You. I love You Father and I love Your Word. I promise that I will meditate on Your precepts and have respect to Your ways. I will always delight myself in Your statutes and I will not forget Thy Word. Gibbsen moved over so that Gareth could take up a long thin ear that sprouted from the instrument panel. Into this ear Gareth spoke:

"Received one woman, suffering from an unknown illness, all of us uninjured: when I arrive, have Dr. Kilver, Mundbern, and Raleigh ready to meet us. My thanks."

Dr. Kilver of course, but Gibbsen was puzzled by Gareth's request for the other two: a technician and a cook?

As the chopper settled at the station, the girl's eyes gleamed in the bright lights, and she pressed close to Gareth. But when they had ceased to move she got out of his lap, staggered, and put her hands on the floor. Gareth told her she could be carried on a stretcher, but she shook her head.

"Flying feels good. Hold my hand."

She walked beside him with an odd gait, and an odd stoop, hanging much of her (little) weight on his wiry grip.

Dr. Kilver met them, carrying a prickly worm in a test-tube, into which he introduced some of the girl's spittle; he also had a thing like a television remote control, with a reptilian snout protruding from one end, to which he fed a little bit of the girl's hair. Then he gave her some water, put a blanket over her shoulders, and hurried away.

Mundbern approached, in his plain military uniform, which looked like it had been died in, perhaps more than once. Raleigh was currently dressed in something which might have been worn at an old theatre; by an actor or spectator, Gibbsen didn't see much difference.

"Judging by the placement," Mundbern said, "I'm sure this one was a most difficult extraction."

Gareth nodded.

"But," Mundbern went on, pointing a black metal rod at the girl, "how do you know this is a human?"
