When we are put to the test (Deut.8:2) and put under pressure, let words Ya'akov be good reminder to us all...
YA‛AQOḆ (JAMES) 1
2 My brothers, count it all joy when you fall into various trials,
3 knowing that the proving of your belief works endurance.
4 And let endurance have a perfect work, so that you be perfect and complete, lacking in naught.
5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of Elohim, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it shall be given to him.
6 But he should ask in belief, not doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind.
7 For that man should not think that he shall receive whatever from the Master –
8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.

On this date in history, 04/27/1813: American forces under General Zebulun Pike capture York (modern day Toronto) from the British. Fires set by fleeing British troops ignite a powder store, killing many Americans, including General Pike. Americans retaliate by looting and burning the town of York. #otd #tdih #warof1812

The Toronto Zoo is offering voluntary Covid 19 vaccines to the animals that reside there. This about that for a moment, animals volunteering to receive a vaccination… Of course they can refuse but the staff is encouraging the animals to allow them to vaccinate them. If this sounds odd, the article is available at the Independent Journal review (IJR.com) of course this contradicts Genesis 9;2, “ And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon every fowl of the air, upon all that moveth upon the earth, and upon all the fishes of the sea; into your hand are they delivered.” There is much that needs to be addressed about this, and we will discuss it Thursday live at 7:30 Eastern time on our podcast.

The Hebrew paragraph:
Gen 20:1-18 {s} Abimelech takes but then restores Sarah, Abraham’s wife
The Chiastic Structure (please see attached pic) has as its central axis, YHVH's command to Abimelech to restore Sarah. The central axis contains the first occurrence in the Bible of the Hebrew word “prophet.”
Prophet is in Hebrew, Strong’s H5030, nabiy, from Strong’s H5012, naba נבא, a primitive root meaning, “to cause to bubble up.” The ancient Hebrew pictographs are the nun + bet + aleph:
nun נ ן = the seed, thus continue, heir, son
bet ב = the house, thus house, household, family, in, within
aleph א = the ox head, thus strength, power, leader
The nun + bet root tells the story of the seed (nun) inside its house (bet) . The concrete noun from this root is fruit, as fruits have their seeds hidden within them; the verbal action is to flourish, to be fruitful. Adding the aleph nuances the meaning to the seed (nun) within (bet) which leads (aleph):
Then I said, “I will not make mention of Him, nor speak anymore in His name.” But His word (nun) was in my heart (bet) like a burning fire shut up in my bones; I was weary of holding it back (aleph) and I could not. Jer 20:9
The seed is the Word of God, Yeshua taught us (Luk 8:11). The word is hidden within the heart (Psa 119:11). But it is so powerful that it takes great effort to restrain it there so that it doesn’t come to the fore; such great effort to overcome, as Jeremiah discovered, that it soon exhausted him and he could not restrain it any longer. So the abstract concept from the root is prophecy, that seed or Word which is hidden, but which is so powerful that it bubbles up.
When we think of Abraham we don’t think of him as a prophet like Isaiah or Jeremiah; he did not preach “Thus saith the LORD” as they did. But he did “speak:” He lived his life differently from the pagan world around him. He lived in accordance with God’s ways. God actually reiterated this previously, when He said,
“For I have known him, in order that he may command his children and his household after him, that they may keep the way of YHVH, to do righteousness and justice, that YHVH may bring upon Abraham what He has spoken to him.” Gen 18:19
The central axis reveals that prophecy and intercessory prayer are two sides of the same coin. A prophet speaks on God’s behalf to men, and an intercessor speaks on man’s behalf to God.

The Hebrew paragraph:
18:1-19:38 {s} Abraham’s intercession, but the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah
See the Chiastic Structure of this paragraph (attached pic). The structure reveals to us something about the judgment of God. God gets accused of being angry, vengeful, wrathful, and judgmental when He exercises His right, no, His responsibility, of judgment. Is that true?
So far we have seen two instances in the Bible where God exercised judgment which resulted in death:
Overcoming the earth with a global Flood, so that all died but Noah and those with him on the ark; and
The overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah.
In both instances, the judgment came because the wickedness of men had become great.
And YHVH saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. Gen 6:5
And YHVH said, ‘Truly, the outcry against Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and, truly, their sin is exceedingly grievous.’ Gen 18:20
Wickedness does not exist in a vacuum. Wicked acts create victims of innocent people, as we see in the structure’s central axis, when the wicked came to Lot’s door to demand they practice their wickedness on the guests of Lot’s house. When wickedness becomes great, it is the responsibility of the Judge of the Whole Earth, YHVH, to judge it, otherwise the innocent become swept up as victims of evil.
Also in both instances, YHVH made a distinction between the righteous and the wicked. In both instances, He provided an avenue of escape for the righteous, from the judgment that was about to come on the wicked, so that He did not ‘sweep away the righteous with the wicked.’ All the while Noah built the ark, for 120 years, he preached righteousness to his neighbors. More than eight people would have been welcome on that ark! As well as the righteous example of Lot to his neighbors (2 Pet 2:5-8).

What about Lot’s two daughters? Lot offering to put them out to appease the wicked was not done at the suggestion of YHVH or the angels, but shows how damaging it was to Lot and his family, the wicked environment was in which he was living. Likewise, that the daughters bore sons to their father was not done at the suggestion of YHVH. Because the Bible factually reports what men did, does not mean that YHVH condoned it, and we must be careful not to conflate the two.
