When we went back to your servant my father, we told him the words of my lord.
Genesis 44:24

Judah called Jacob Joseph's "servant" in this verse. Even though Judah still didn't know who Joseph was at this point, his statement was a partial fulfillment of Joseph's dreams and reminds me of David calling the future Messiah, his own descendant, "my Lord". #yeshua

Then Judah went up to him and said, “Oh, my lord, please let your servant speak a word in my lord's ears, and let not your anger burn against your servant, for you are like Pharaoh himself.
Genesis 44:18

Although Joseph had authority and power over many, he always operated under the authority of another, whether it was Jacob, God, or Pharaoh. One who is authorized to speak in the name of another, speaks *as* the other.

Remember what #yeshua (aka #jesus) said about whose words he spoke? Like Joseph, he operated under authority, speaking and doing only what the Father instructed him.

Last month I started a TikTok account in order to promote my comics. I didn't realize how populated that platform was. I have had the most interactions there than with anything else I have done online. With that, there are people that disagree with things I say. Well, except in the video in question that inspired this post I didn't say anything. I was just showing my tassels.

The commenter stated that by me wearing them, I was sinning. We went back and forth a few times, as well as a few other people commenting to him and he said that doing anything in the Torah was sinning. My response to him, is the same that is in the comic. God tells us His Torah is good and perfect. He tells Isaiah "woe to those who call good evil". Saying something is a sin is saying it is evil to do. If God says that His Torah is good, and you say it is a sin, you are calling good evil. Woe to you!

The other passages I included here are a few of the many passages that talk about all the good things about the Torah. Our English Bibles typically translate Torah as "law", but if you grab a concordance and look up that word, it is Torah. The argument that doing Torah is sinning is saying that Yeshua sinned, because he did Torah. That is how we know Yeshua was sinless, the perfect sacrifice. There is no where in the Bible that says doing Torah is sinning. All the statements in the Bible are exactly the opposite of that.

Please, don't take one verse or chapter or book, 99% of the time from Paul, to say that doing God's Law is evil. This is misunderstanding Scripture. Peter warned us of this in 2 Peter 3:15-17. In the words of an online ministry I really like: "Be a doer of the Word, and not a hearer only." -- How much of the Word have you heard, but don't do?

Do you stay in touch with people you served with?

I'm FB friends with a handful of people I went through Basic and/or tech school with, but otherwise I don't even know where most of them are these days. I've always been terrible at keeping in touch, though.

Its been over thirty years since Active Duty. I have been able to stay in touch with two people via FB and LinkedIn. They also happen to be believers.

The Tanakh (Old Testament) seems to describe two messiahs: the Son of Joseph and the Son of David, the suffering Servant and the conquering King. Rabbinic tradition says that Messiah ben Yosef must precede ben David, but what if they're the same messiah who saves Israel twice? Messiah ben Joseph is known to the world as the messiah of Egypt (allegorically the world), but he is an Israelite messiah hidden from Israel's understanding by pagan trappings. Meek, misunderstood, a martyr and servant without guile or ambition, yet elevated by the treachery of his own brothers to rule the world.

The roles of ben David and ben Yosef are transposed in #vayigash (#genesis 44:18-47:27). Joseph is the king and Judah gives his life. But Joseph's great reveal is an image of #yeshua transformed from ben Yosef to ben David. All will know Him then.

I think if this were true, then the Heh would be an Aleph. Why "the man" when it is not "the ox", "the eagle", etc? I think the more common explanation of "nes gadol haya sham" is much more likely.

God is Love-
I believe that the #torah is living, active, and applicable today. The Torah is not Genesis through Deuteronomy, it is not Genesis through Malachi. Friends the LORD's TORAH is Genesis through Revelation. In it there is no contridiction. His ways are beautiful, perfect and His yoke is not heavy it is light!
But if you are reading the torah through the tradition of men, you will be lost. We are to understand the Word of God through His Son #yeshua.
The foundational principle behind every command is #love. Let us not forget that.
7 Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. 8 He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. 9 In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. 10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. - 1 John 4:7-21
