Does the number 666 cause you to cringe when it is mentioned? If so your response has been programmed by years of constant training. Revelation 13:18, “Here is a call for wisdom: Let the one who has insight calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man, and that number is 666.” This number showing up in distance or finance or even in a basic math problem has nothing to do with the number of a person or even how the letters of an name outside of the Hebrew language may add up to it. Yet many people avoid it because of their conditioning. What most people don’t realize is that this number is not used in all of the older manuscripts, there is another number and that number is 616. The number itself is not evil or demonic it serves only to prove to those who have the wisdom to calculate the number of the one who is evil.
To be clear on a point, at the cross Christ prayed for those who did not know what they did: he said, "they know not what they do", and he spoke the truth - he spoke of the soldiers who did not know, the centurion, who only realised afterwards that this condemned man was innocent, that he was indeed the son of God.
Rather, Christ specifically condemned the Pharisees, saying to Pilate, "he that delivered me unto thee hath the greater sin". Those who knowingly betrayed him and did not repent received none of his forgiveness, as it is written, "These shall receive the greater damnation." Mk 12
