Leviticus chapter 12 tells us that after the birth of a boy the mother is unclean for seven days but if it is a girl she is unclean for fourteen days. While there seems to be no physical reason for this, there certainly is a spiritual one which many argue about today, we have simply lost that reason through the years. To apply this today may seem silly until we understand that when this was written mother and child were not smothered with visitors which allowed them to bond in a way we don’t see today. Now everyone wants to come see the new baby and Mom seems to fade into the background, a possible contributing factor to postpartum depression.
Thought for Today: Thursday, July 18
Faith is a choice; faith is a step of obedience -- even if you do not feel like it; faith is a spiritual exercise; faith is taking YHVH at His Word; faith is saying yes to YHVH; faith is looking to Yeshua for everything; faith is knowing that we are never without hope; faith is what lifts us up, out of our circumstances; faith is not holding anything back from YHVH; faith is a gift from YHVH as we read His Word; faith is to know for sure that everything will work out; faith is a way out of limitations; faith is the source of all hope; faith is the road to peace. Put your faith in YHVH today.
A new Edition of the Lawful Literal Version of the Bible is out now
…a work in progress with over 66,000 improvements so far!
The whole text of LLV330 Caught by 'Ureem and Tummeem Edition:
As far as the translator is aware, every name is now spelled with the aim of accurately reflecting the correct, historical pronunciations of these historical names according to modern phonetic English-alphabet transcription, e.g. ‘y’ not ‘j’ for the sound at the start of ‘yellow’, ‘w’ not ‘v’ for the sound at the start of ‘water’. The transcriptions in the LLV are aimed to be better than those of any English translation of Scripture made so far, because they consider not only the pointings of the medieval Hebrew texts but also the older transcriptions in Greek and Latin letters.

We're supposed to help our brothers and sisters and neighbors, and Yeshua gave us some good teaching about who our neighbors and brethren are. We're also supposed to help the poor, the sick, and the suffering. But what do we do if those in need of help don't want to make any effort toward getting the relief, healing, or whatever else they need? Are we still obligated to help? That's a question Barry and David discuss in this midrash.
