What do we do when the people and institutions we have trusted all our lives prove themselves to be untrustworthy? It's bad enough when the wicked do wicked things, but what are we to do when the righteous act wickedly? What if those "wicked righteous" are the people we see in the mirror?

Forming a belief from a single verse out of context leads to poor doctrine and forming a conclusion from a figure of speech is foolish. 2 Peter 3:8, “Beloved, do not let this one thing escape your notice: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.” Many try to use this verse to justify evolution in some way but they are ignorant of where Peter uses this figure of speech from. Psalms 90:4, “For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.” Peter’s use of this describes an eternal Creator who has seen the sins of our past in the blink of an eye and is willing to forgive when we choose to repent.
Asking for prayer for my husband and I. We have a situation with Co-Parenting that we are trying to deal with together. Although we are attempting to Shabbat in YHVH's presence, we are also pondering leaving our sacrifice at the alter to go make things right. Asking for softening of the heart of our hardened adversary as well. Please keep us in your incense on this Set Apart day, that YAH will restore what has been broken.
Prayer -- Day 27
Practice
“You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on you”. (Isaiah 26:3)
This passage advises you to practice thinking about YHVH, to keep your mind “stayed” or fixed not upon your troubles, but upon YHVH. Keep your mind on YHVH for as many minutes during the day as possible. This may be difficult at first, because you are not used to spiritual concentration. Practice will make it easier. (Practice, practice, practice!)
Shabbat Shalom!
Tonight was a feast of Plov, salad, roasted vegetables, and tapioca pudding.
Sarah made the pudding so if y’all want to bug @beansforlunch for a recipe on her blog she might oblige.
