There is a danger in forming a doctrine around a single verse in the Bible, especially if that verse is used out of context or based on a poor translation. Matthew 26:52, “Put your sword back in its place,” Jesus said to him. “For all who draw the sword will die by the sword.” This verse has evolved into the saying, “Live by the sword, die by the sword.” The context of this verse is Peter, who without provocation cuts the ear from a Roman soldier. Peter in his own passionate way thought he was defending the innocent but the reality is that he drew first blood without thought, prayer or instruction from the Creator.
Prayer -- Day 26
Experience
“But those who wait on Adonai shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings like eagles. They shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint”. (Isaiah 40:31)
This beautiful verse describes the greatest experience that can ever happen to you. It is called spiritual experience. You get it by completely surrendering yourself to YHVH and experiencing His presence. You will find as you face day-to-day situations that used to be difficult and monotonous, this power is so great that it keeps you going without depletion of strength. Spiritual experience begins by lifting you to new levels, after which it helps you to keep going with continuous power.
God doesn’t look at race the same way we do. He does however keep track of descendants.
You won’t read in your Bible how King David was 1/4 Moabite 3/4 Judahite.
Because God isn’t measuring percentage of blood, He’s looking at the beginning of David’s line all the way to the end at a single glance.
This is why the northern tribes of the kingdom of Israel are not “lost”. God doesn’t lose track of anything. Nor does He care about how much gentile blood is mixed in. He sees the entire line from Ephraim to you reading this post.
Now does this verse make more sense to you?:
“But his father refused and said, “I know, my son, I know. He also shall become a people, and he also shall be great; but truly his younger brother (Ephraim) shall be greater than he, and his descendants shall become a multitude of nations.””
Genesis 48:19 NKJV
