The heart of righteousness is chesed, loving kindness. If you love God, you will love God's creatures.

This does not mean that a righteous man doesn't harm and kill animals. It only means he doesn't treat the animal cruelly. He doesn't torture, maim, or cause needless suffering.

The wicked, on the other hand, do all kinds of hateful things to all of Creation in the name of "love".

The modern Christian church often places more importance on the afterlife than this life leading many to think that the reason to believe in the Creator is to go to heaven. That is not the reason the Creator brought the people out of Egypt years ago and it is not the reason he brings us out of our sin filled lifestyle today. Exodus 8:1, “Then the LORD said to Moses, “Go to Pharaoh and tell him that this is what the LORD says: ‘Let My people go, so that they may serve Me.” This verse should remind us the reason that we leave our sinful past is not simply to get into heaven but to serve our Creator today.
