I spoke to a group last night that's very mature in the faith. You better know what you're talking about with this crowd. I present and use the NASB95 and, in the subsequent discussion, they all used the KJV and then spent quite a bit of time showing how the KJV is wrong with each verse, to the point of showing Greek verb tenses. I just grinned and read the verses out of the NASB95 showing how it said what they had figured out, LOL.

How do we define right and wrong if there is no absolute truth? We complain about moral relativism, but only until we realize that the existence of absolute truth means there is a standard by which we all can be judged as right or wrong, good or evil, righteous or wicked. Do we really want such a definition, or do we want it only when we can use it to justify ourselves as we point out the wrongness of others?

1 Jon 4:7, “Beloved, let us love one another, because love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.” John writes this based on a promise Moses records in Deuteronomy 30:6, “And the LORD thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live.” We often confuse the word circumcise but it simply means to cut away a portion to make something clean. In the Deuteronomy passage Moses is saying that the unclean part of our heart will be cut away to make it clean. These verses indicate that would be very difficult to truly know how to love each other or even ourself until we eliminate any unholy spirit that would interfere with that love.

The story of the Exodus begins with the Egyptians drowning children in the Nile.

It ends with Yah drowning the whole Egyptian army in the sea.

I never put the two together before…
