Deuteronomy 16:8, “For six days you must eat unleavened bread, and on the seventh day you shall hold a solemn assembly to the LORD your God, and you must not do any work.” Although it is considered a week long feast, eating unleavened bread only lasts six days. Thought for Today: Wednesday April 09
Seek to please YHVH above anything else. As you go through this day, there will be many choice-points along your way. Many decisions will be small which you have to make quickly, and some will be major, but you will need some rule of thumb to help you make good choices. Many people’s decisions are a combination of their habitual responses and their desire to please themselves or others. This is not YHVH’s way for the believer. Strive to please YHVH Elohiym in everything, not just in small or major decisions. When His Presence is your deepest desire, you will know almost instinctively what will Please Him. With YHVH in mind, I believe you will make the right choices.
A thanksgiving/peace offering was to be a major event, a community/family celebration complete with a BBQ. It was an opportunity to publicly praise God for his protection, guidance, or provision.
There are three kinds of peace offerings in Torah:
1) Vow offering
2) Thanksgiving
3) Freewill
Four if you include the Passover.
