Thought for Today: Monday January 02:
Good morning! This is a day Adonai has made for you and me! Let us rejoice and be glad in it! Let us begin this day with open hands of faith, ready to receive all that YHVH is pouring into this brief portion of our lives. Let us be careful not to complain about anything, even the weather, since He is the Author of our circumstances. Remember, the best way to deal with unwanted situations is to thank Elohiym for them. This act of faith will free us from resentment and frees Him to work His ways into the situations, so that good emerges from it. To find His Joy in the day, we must live within its boundaries. Father knew what He was doing when He divided time into twenty-four-hour segments. He understands the human frailty, and He know that we can bear the weight of only one day at a time. Do not live in the past or 2022 and do not worry about tomorrow or the New Year 2023. There is abundant Life in His Presence today, this moment!
"33) Ye serpents, ye offspring of vipers, how shall ye escape the judgement of Gehenna_(hell)?
34) Therefore, behold, I send to you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: some of them shall ye kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye whip in your synagogues, and persecute from city to city:
35) that upon you may come all the righteous blood shed on the earth, from the blood of Habel the righteous to the blood of Zakharyah son of Barakhyah, whom ye slew between the sanctuary and the altar.
36) Amen, I say to you, All these things shall come upon this generation."
(Matthew 23:33-36)
I seek the will of God to do it. It seems He is making me scribe-like, a linguist and translator of the ancient Scriptures, to bring out treasures both new and old, and to call people to the commitment , the partnership, the 'fellowship' -the Way- 'the faith once delievered to the saints' (Jude 3)
“...[Manasseh] also shall become a people, and he also shall be great. Nevertheless, his younger brother [Ephraim] shall be greater than he, and his offspring shall become a multitude of nations.”
Genesis 48:19
I think "multitude" in this verse is a poor translation. The more literal meaning of "fullness" might sound strange, but I think is more accurate to the original intent. Ephraim, as the representative tribe of the northern kingdom, was scattered into the nations, seeding ideas which would prepare the way for the Good News of Israel's Messiah a thousand years later.
Genesis 48:15-16 shows three ways in which God related to Jacob:
1-The God and benefactor of his fathers, Abraham and Isaac, from whom he inherited doctrine and blessings.
2-His Protector and Guide throughout his travels and misadventures.
3-His Challenger and Redeemer who molded him into God's representative and saved him from himself.
YHWH is our God too!
