Luke 7:23
#yeshua said many things that would be startling or threatening to an identity tied to sinful behavior or attitudes. Our natural inclination is to react against such a confrontation, often violently, but truly blessed is the one who can hear the truth about his own sin and not run and hide from it.
In that hour he healed many people of diseases and plagues and evil spirits, and on many who were blind he bestowed sight.
Luke 7:21
Time spans in Scripture are often expressed using idioms that shouldn't be interpreted literally. "In that day", "In that hour", "three days and three nights", etc., are sometimes meant literally, but are more often intended to be understood as approximations. If this verse had been written today in modern English, it might say "Immediately afterward..." or "At about that same time..."

FROM THIS WEEK'S TORAH PORTION:
“And he dreamed still another dream and related it to his brothers, and said, ‘See, I have dreamed another dream, and see, the sun and the moon and the eleven stars bowed down to me.’ And he related it to his father and his brothers. And his father rebuked him and said to him, ‘What is this dream that you have dreamed? Shall we, your mother and I and your brothers, indeed come to bow down to the earth before you?’ And his brothers envied him, but his father guarded the word.”
In Matthew 6:24 Yeshua said that no one can serve two masters, but in Genesis 24, Eliezer served both Abraham and God, and Paul told wives to serve their husbands and slaves to serve their masters. How should we reconcile this apparent contradiction?

House and wealth are an inheritance from fathers, but a prudent wife is from Adonai.
Proverbs 19:14 TLV
If you want to inherit an estate from your father, do what you can to help him build it while he's alive, and then maintain a good relationship with him. Honor and obey your father.
A prudent wife is from YHWH, but she doesn't just happen. She must be sought out and chosen carefully, and then that relationship must be cultivated and nourished more than any other relationship you will ever have with another human being.
Genesis 31:24, “ And God came to Laban the Syrian in a dream by night, and said unto him, Take heed that thou speak not to Jacob either good or bad.” We most often see warnings directed toward kings or other people of notoriety but here we see a warning being given directly to Laban. Laban may have been wealthy, however he wasn’t a king or someone of prominence and this describes how our Creator also will warn us of our actions, no matter who we are.
